Twenty years after the release of their self-titled debut album, GARBAGE will celebrate their lauded career with a US Anniversary tour. Christened the 20 Years Queer Tour, the band will play their debut album in its entirety for the first time. A full list of dates can be found below.

Garbage released their genre defying, groundbreaking debut on August 15, 1995 at a time when grunge music dominated the airwaves and mainstream culture. Their distinctive approach to songwriting and production, blending elements of rock, pop and electronic music, captured the attention of critics and fans all over the world. The album spawned multiple hits including: Vow, Queer, Stupid Girl and Only Happy When It Rains. It spent more than a year on both the US and UK charts, received multi-platinum certifications around the world and was nominated for three Grammy awards including Best New Artist and Best Rock Song (Stupid Girl). The album went on to sell over 4 million copies worldwide.

Later this summer, Garbage will release a special 20th Anniversary edition of the album that will be re-mastered and feature all of the remixes and previously unreleased versions of songs from their debut.

Garbage will offer VIP experience packages for the US tour through Adventures in Wonderland. Offers will include premium seating, sound check access, meet and greets, soundboard viewing, and exclusive merch.

ABOUT GARBAGE

Garbage is Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker and Butch Vig. After forming in Madison, WI, Garbage released their self-titled debut album in 1995. The band’s unique sound and provocative visual aesthetic, inspired massive worldwide attention and success. Their follow up album, Version 2.0, released in 1998, topped charts all over the world and garnered multiple Grammy Award nominations including Album Of The Year. Richard Johnson, the star of several British films in the Sixties, has died at the age of 87, his family have announced.

Johnson made his name in movies such as Robert Wise’s The Haunting of 1963. This was followed by Khartoum, in which he co-starred with Laurence Oliver and Charlton Heston.

He is perhaps most famous, however, for the film role he did not take.

Johnson was contracted in the Sixties to the motion picture studio, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). This contract was one of exclusivity, meaning he was forced to decline a role he was offered by director Terence Young (and producers, Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman) in the first James Bond film, Dr No. As Bond himself. The part would end up going to Sean Connery.

Johnson was also a renowned theatre actor, working with Peter Hall at the newly formed Royal Shakespeare Company, where he played a number of roles, including Anthony in 'Anthony & Cleopatra' on two occasions (in the 1970s and 1990s).

More recently, he appeared in such films as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.

He also has many small-screen credits to his name, in such TV series as Midsomer Murders, Waking the Dead, Silent Witness and Doc Martin, where his charismatic presence won over many viewers.
