First song for Keluar, the new project of Alison Lewis (ex-Linea Aspera)

18th of May 2013, 18:05

Alison Lewis, aka Zoè Zanias, the singer of the cult band Linea Aspera, has unveiled the first song of her new project: Keluar. As she had told us in an interview earlier this year, her new music is more experimental than with Linea Aspera. It is indeed less synth-pop, more minimal wave, and this song has even trip-hop accents, as we find some aspects of "Machine Gun" from Portishead in the 'shooting' rhythmic riff. Her vocals are as before, warm, haunting and amazingly intense.

The lyrics and the vocals of this new song ("Rivers") are by Alison. The electronics and the production are by Sid Lamar. This song will appear on the "Ennoea" EP, for release in July 2013 on Desire Records. I had the opportunity to listen to a preview of the other songs on the EP and they have some amazing sonic atmospheres, with complex structures, great tribal percussions and some Asian touches. I am looking forward to the final EP!

The new London postpunk wonder SAVAGES in May at the Nuits Botaniques

25th of April 2013, 17:42

SAVAGES, the new postpunk wonder from London, will be playing at the Nuits Botaniques in Brussels on May 13rd. The female quartet expresses, through her energetic music, all the essence and the primordial sound of punk and postpunk history, with references like Joy Division, PIL and Siouxsie And The Banshees. It’s powerful, straight to the point and the ideal format for a live show. Their EP ‘I am here’ was released last year and is a mini-summary of all their wild energy.

The supporting artist will be Johnny Hostile, a talented producer who – with his accomplice Jehnny Beth – is the mastermind behind the creation of the Pop Noire label (which signed Lescop, also present at Les Nuits Botaniques).
