By popular demand, Tympanik Audio finally presents Tineidae‘s celebrated debut album ‘Lights‘ on compact disc. With just a handful of compilation appearances to his name, Tineidae’s debut album ‘Lights’ will serve well as his proper introduction to the world.

This fresh young talent utilizes a clean, airy approach to dark bedroom IDM. Combining futuristic beats with brooding synthlines, stark melodies, and entrancing atmospheres, Tineidae’s sound mixture flows and ebbs with an alluring grace, conjuring images of celestial travel to alien worlds, as glitch-laden beats caress and seize with mindful precision.

Melotron are stuck in the mirror

22nd of February 2013, 18:19

Right on time for their big tour supporting Blutengel (in March/April 2013), one of the finest German Electro-bands returns after a five year hiatus. Melotron’s new EP “Stuck In The Mirror” is limited to 1000 copies in a hand numbered Digipak and contains the catchy title track in two versions, a rework of one of the group’s classics plus three more, new tracks.

Following the motto of one of their songs “Wir können auch anders” (we can do things differently), charismatic singer AndyK and his lads not only manage to showcase that their songs also work darn well in English, but also why there are one of the most versatile, exciting and gripping acts to emerge from the German Electro-Pop-scene (and to transcend far beyond its boundaries.)

The title track “Stuck In The Mirror” sports a solid beat and heavy sequencers that seamlessly flow into a breezy chorus: an addictive club hit that gives a pretty good glimpse into what might have happened if early A-ha had developed a soft spot for EBM. With the gripping remake of their classic “Folge mir ins Licht” that sees the band collaborate with Soprano Lauren Francis, they plunge the listener from a searing hot dance party into a deep ocean of emotions, just to emerge again with the two mid tempo smashers “Erase” and “Angst und! Wahn.” Singer AndyK then steers the band back into clubby waters with his remix of the title song, before the instrumental track “Ohne Worte” serves as a soft transition to deliver the listener back into his or her harsh reality, filled with an irresistible longing for more.

Melotron have the courage to be simultaneously catchy, dance floor compatible and outright emotional which renders them one of the most unique bands of their particular genre and keeps the expectations up for their upcoming CD “Werkschau.” “Stuck In The Mirror” is limited to 1000 copies and is released in a classy, hand numbered Digipak.

The 30th studioalbum by David Bowie is on its way!

22nd of February 2013, 18:16

'The Next Day' is Bowie's 30th studio album and his first new album in 10 years. The Next Day Deluxe version will contain 14 songs plus 3 bonus tracks. Throwing shadows and avoiding the industry treadmill is very David Bowie despite his extraordinary track record that includes album sales in excess of 130 million not to mention his massive contributions in the area of art, fashion, style, sexual exploration and social commentary.

It goes without saying that he has sold out stadiums and broken ticket records throughout the world during this most influential of careers. In recent years radio silence has been broken only by endless speculation, rumor and wishful thinking....a new record...who would have ever thought it, who'd have ever dreamed it! After all David is the kind of artist who writes and performs what he wants when he wants...when he has something to say as opposed to something to sell.

Today he definitely has something to say. Produced by long term collaborator T! ony Visconti, 'Where Are We Now?' was written by Bowie, and was recorded in New York. The single is accompanied by a haunting video directed by Tony Oursler which harks back to David's time in Berlin. He is seen looking in on footage of the auto repair shop beneath the apartment he lived in along with stark images of the city at the time and a lyric constantly raising the question Where Are We Now?

Album by Deux released on Minimal Wave

22nd of February 2013, 18:08

Minimal Wave are pleased to announce that the re-press of the Decadence LP by French duo Deux which will be available on January 3, 2013. Gérard Pelletier and Cati Tete formed Deux after meeting in Lyon in 1981. Their music can be described as minimal synth with stripped down rhythm compositions and suitably cold duets. Their influences are a perfect blend of Kraftwerk and French synthpop.

Between 1983 and 1992, they released a cassette and several rare singles. They also appeared on the V/A BIPP LP (2006) and on the V/A The Minimal Wave Tapes: Vol 1 LP (2010). Check their lovely videos linked below.

The Decadence LP features selections of their old material, newly remastered. It is a hand numbered second edition of 999 copies, pressed on 180 gram vinyl and housed in a heavy matte jacket."

New Album Excavation by The Haxan Cloak out

22nd of February 2013, 18:04

Tri Angle Records is very excited to announce the release of The Haxan Cloak’s eagerly awaited second album Excavation, to be released in Europe on April 15 on CD and LP formats.

In 2011 with the release of his debut, self titled album, The Haxan Cloak, solo project of multi instrumentalist, Bobby Krlic, appeared seemingly out of nowhere with an impressively fully formed sound that blew away most anyone who heard it. Recorded over the space of 3 yearsThe Haxan Cloak was a wildly ambitious fusion of malevolent strings, junkyard found-sounds and primitive percussion, Krlic’s grand ambitions transcending the fact that it was all recorded in a shed at the bottom of Krlic’s parent’s home in Wakefield, Yorkshire. In the two years since the release of his debut, Krlic relocated to London and began working on it’s epic follow up, and Tri Angle Records debut;Excavation

Bolstered by the concept he was developing for his follow up and a desire to challenge himself into new terrains, Krlic has evolved his sound to incorporate more of his electronic influences. The result is an album awash with serrated beats and cavernous sub-bass, meshing with the classical drones and ghostly details The Haxan Cloak fans will have already been accustomed to.Excavation finds Krlic confidently adopting a more minimalist approach to his compositions, experimenting with space and silence without forsaking any of the intensity that made his debut such a powerful statement of intent.

If The Haxan Cloak was conceived as the soundtrack to a character’s journey towards death,Excavation is its sequel representing the journey after death. Excavation is about disconnecting entirely from this and entering upon a more astral plane, explaining some of the albums more ethereal, ambient moments that are in constant tension with jagged and aggressive elements. This journey isn’t supposed to represent an archetypal Heaven or Hell scenario, but something more abstract and unknowable; the abstraction of the situation being one of its most unsettling aspects.Excavation is another uncompromising, incredibly personal record from an artist who is continuing to operate very much within his own world.
