META MEAT, a new project of Somekilos (half of 2kilos & More) and Phil Von (co-leader of Von Magnet)
Besides both being electronic musicians and composers, Somekilos (half of 2kilos & More) and Phil Von (co-leader of Von Magnet) also share a passion for percussions and rhythms.
Their common project entitled META MEAT associates the source of flesh (MEAT) with its passage beyond (META). META MEAT is a very physical live act bound to propel our bodies and souls into another state, a state of release and trance, incarnating a wish to elevate our animality towards a higher conscience of being. The duo fights together in a vibrant duel. Their joined skills and energies combine real drumming & beating (Somekilos), real stamping & banging (Phil Von) together battling against twisted virtual synths samples & machines. The electronic sounds being treated as radically as the acoustic percussions played by the two musicians, the musical result turns out sounding utterly “tribal”. Enhanced by the magnificent production and mixing of Def, this first album is a Samurai pact, a commitment to raw musical integrity and an oath to elegant barbaric sonic power.
And if this album was a weapon, the perfect soundtrack for our actual world wars? Cruel, merciless, sad, pandemic but harshly accurate. When two antagonistic cultures scrape and collide against each other, Occidental versus Oriental, modern versus archaic... even adding the Eastern Asian third part into the balance, so to stir an even more complex and brutal electro-ethnic blend.
How can we envision a better world?

Long Distance Operators , the new CD by Catherine Graindorge & Hugo Race
Long Distance Operators (LDO) is a collaboration between the Australian musician Hugo Race and the Belgian violinist Catherine Graindorge.
The music of LDO is an intensely atmospheric dreamweave of violins, electronics and Hugo's darkly evocative voice. The duo explores metaphysical lyrics, experimental sounds and retro-baroque orchestration in a romantic, song-based context.
The CD is released on 09 02 2017 through the label Sub Rosa & the first clip can be seen here below.
Hugo Race
Singer, songwriter, producer and author, he has a long and wide-ranging history, from the trans-global Dirtmusic and his groups True Spirit and Fatalists to his origins in the 80's Melbourne post-punk scene with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and The Wreckery.
Catherine Graindorge
She is a Belgian violinist, composer and actress, known for her work with the Belgian groups Monsoon and Nox, and more recently with Détroit (Bertrand Cantat- Pascal Humbert), John Parish or the German singer Andrea Schroeder. She also plays and composes for theater and cinema.

Hugo Race
Als zanger, songwriter, producer en schrijver heeft hij een lange en wijdverbreide geschiedenis, van het transglobale Dirtmusic en zijn bands True Spirit en Fatalists tot zijn wortels in de 80s post punk scene van Melbourne met Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds en The Wreckery.
Catherine Graindorge
Zij is een Belgische violiste, componiste en actice, bekend van haar werk met de Belgische bands Monsoon en Nox en, meer recent, met Détroit (Bertrand Cantat-Pascal Humbert), John Parish of the Duitse zangeres Andrea Schoeder. Ze speelt en componeert ook voor theater en bioscoop.

Now that location (De Casino, St-Niklaas, B) and dates (December 15 + 16) are know for the XVI edition of the Belgian Independant Music festival (BIMFEST) we now eagerly await the announcement of the first names for BIMFEST 2017. And in the meantime at BodyBeats they are looking for two artists to open BIMFEST this year.
And therefor, same as last year, they will again host a Dark Demo(n)s Night. A night on which (starting) bands can present themselves to an audience under the best possible circumstances.
In 2016 Super Dragon Punch!! and Euforic Existence managed to convincingly win over the audience and got the opportunity to open BIMFEST 2016. Something both bands managed succesfully according to the ample audience that whitnessed them.
We asked the organisation why these Dark Demons Nights were created.
'Every year again we received a lot of e-mails, messages and personal questions from bands to ask if they could please play at our events and/or BIMFEST, whether or not as opener. Because there are so many offers and the possibilities are limited we decided last year (2016) to bring our Dark Demo(n)s concept back to life again. The idea behind these Dark Demo(n)s Nights is to offer bands the opportunity to present themselves to an audience under the best possible circumstances. That means on a proper stage, with professional lighting and sound and with an interested audience. The bonus for the participents is that the audience gets to vote which bands they would like to see again at our next BIMFEST.
We know that some bands are a bit distrustful about this concept because they focus too much on the bonus and see this as a contest while they should actually be focussing on the opportunity to present themselves to their fans under the best possible circumstances and maybe even manage to convince new fans with their work and abilities. And anyway the public vote system is build in such a way that you have to rate each and every band from 1 to 6. Ballot papers that are not filled in completely are discounted. We saw last year that in this way there are no real losers but that the total quantity of votes is very close together. And because we will only select 6 candidates this year and 2 go through the chances of actually playing BIMFEST are 1/3... imagine that! The horror! :D'

Maar ondertussen zoekt men bij BodyBeats ook nog twee artiesten die het BIMFEST dit jaar zullen mogen openen.
Daarom zullen zij net als vorig jaar opnieuw een Dark Demo(n)s Night organiseren, een avond waarop (al dan niet beginnende) bands zich in de beste omstandigheden kunnen komen voorstellen aan het publiek.
In 2016 wisten Super Dragon Punch!! en Euforic Existence met glans het aanwezige publiek te overtuigen en mochten aldus BIMFEST 2016 openen. Iets wat beiden trouwens met succes deden als we het talrijke aanwezige publiek mogen geloven.
Wij vroegen de organisatie waarom deze Dark Demons Nights in het leven werden geroepen.
“Wel, elk jaar opnieuw kregen we massa’s e-mails, berichten en persoonlijke vragen van bands om a.u.b. op onze events en/of BIMFEST te mogen spelen, al dan niet als opener. Omdat het aanbod zo groot is en de gelegenheden eerder beperkt besloten we vorig jaar (2016) ons Dark Demo(n)s concept terug tot leven te roepen. De bedoeling van deze Dark Demo(n)s Nights is in de eerste plaats om bands de kans te geven zich aan een publiek voor te stellen en dit in de beste omstandigheden. Dit wil zeggen op een deftig podium, met professionele belichting en geluid en een geïnteresseerd publiek. Het leuke extraatje aan deelnemen is dat het aanwezige publiek door middel van hun stem ook kunnen laten weten wie ze willen terug zien op ons volgende BIMFEST.
We weten dat sommige bands wat wantrouwig staan tegenover dit concept omdat zij zich te veel focussen op het ‘leuke extraatje’ en dit zien als een ‘wedstrijd’ terwijl ze zich in de eerste plaats zouden moeten focussen op de opportuniteit om zich in de beste omstandigheden voor te stellen aan hun fans en misschien zelfs nieuwe zieltjes te overtuigen van hun werk en kunnen. Trouwens het publiek stemsysteem is zo opgevat dat men iedere band een waardering moet geven van 1 tot 6. Stembiljetten die niet volledig zijn ingevuld worden dus niet geteld. We hebben vorig jaar gezien dat er op deze manier geen echte ‘verliezers’ zijn maar dat het aantal totaal stemmen zeer dicht bij elkaar ligt. Trouwens aangezien we dit jaar maximum 6 kandidaten selecteren en er twee bands door kunnen gaan is de kans 1/3 dat men ook op BIMFEST 2017 mag spelen … stel je voor! The horror! :D”

After The Pussybats have already presented their new video "Silver Bullet", the new album is finally coming - and we do not have to wait a long time. The band announced the 3rd album "Indestructible" for the 31st March 2017, thereby making the fan hearts beat faster.
"We are in the process of finishing and have a good feeling," the band says.
The PUSSYBATS have been working on their new project for months, including the support of producer Christian Miconi (Vlad In Tears) and the guitarist Stuart Anstis (Ninepence, ex Cradle of Filth).
