Formed in the summer of 2014, HIGH FIGHTER deliver a volatile cocktail of heavy as hell tunes and offer something new to the doom, sludge, blues and stoner metal scene. After numerous shows with bands such as Corrosion of Conformity, Greenleaf, Mammoth Mammoth or The Midnight Ghost Train, tours throughout Germany, Belgium, France and the UK, as well as several festival appearances this summer at like Stoned from the Underground 2015, Sonic Blast Portugal, Red Smoke in Poland, an exclusive press showcase at this year's Wacken Open Air & many more, in one year band existence HIGH FIGHTER have gained high praise from both fans and the press all over Europe and already belong to one of the most promising newcomer acts the scene has to offer.
To celebrate the band's EP re-release on Vinyl and to end a first successful year of their young band history, HIGH FIGHTER have just recently announced an extensive tour with nautic funeral doom masters in AHAB. For the first time back on vinyl: the excellent second album of the legendary band of Arno Hintjens and Paul Couter. Recorded in 1977 and 1978 " Plat du Jour " a tight rocking prelude to the creation of TC Matic with the rhythm section Rudy Cloet and Ferre Baelen. The single " Gimme What I Need " was featured on the jukebox of the mythical New York club CBGB's , the birthplace of American punk , and new wave.

In 2015, The Shoes are back with their new album Chemicals, which they’re calling their third album, under the in™ uence of superstition… 10 songs written in between pizza and sushis boxes, in Paris, London, New York and Reims, in France. The album will be released this friday!
As far as in™ uences are concerned, The Shoes pick in what they like : coldwave, nineties UK trance, new wave and even EDM. The idea is to disassemble the labels in order to reassemble them in a masterful electro pop puzzle. They are not interested in composing sad ballads to say how cruel the world is. The Shoes prefer having fun and seeing if it’s possible to make Frankie Goes To Hollywood be played with Aphex Twin, to blow hot and cold, rough and soft, never mind if it’s not homogenous, as long as it is coherent.
A vinyl reissue of Aksak Maboul's seminal album 'Onze danses pour combattre la migraine'
Here's at last the vinyl reissue of the seminal album, recorded in 1977 by Crammed founder Marc Hollander with Vincent Kenis (a.o. producer of the Congotronics series), and originally released on Marc Moulin's ephemeral Kamikaze label. The reissue is already creating quite a stir (the initial pressing sold out immediately, a couple of weeks ago, and the LP will again be available in a few days).
In the spring of 1977, two young Belgian musicians who call themselves Aksak Maboul (Hollander & Kenis) set out to record an album in which they playfully fused and deconstructed all kinds of genres to create their own musical world. Three years later, Hollander founded the Crammed label.
Leapfrogging over style & genre boundaries, they took in elements of rock, electronics, jazz, early 20th century classical, imaginary African & Balkan music, American minimalism, and even proto-techno (as in the surprising track Saure Gurke, which foreshadows some characteristic Detroit techno riffs by a good ten years).
"Onze Danses…" became a cult album, and can retrospectively be viewed as a manifesto for the Crammed aesthetics, a blueprint for some of the directions which the label went on to follow during the next few decades.
Audience interest in the music of Aksak Maboul has been constant over the years, and has significantly increased since last year's release of the band's "lost" avant-pop opus, Ex-Futur Album, which was enthusiastically welcomed, and led Marc Hollander and (Honeymoon Killers singer) Véronique Vincent to form a new band and play shows for the first time since the 80s.
Onze danses pour combattre la migraine is reissued with its original 1977 artwork. It contains a double insert with texts and pictures, as well as a digital download code for the album plus three bonus tracks.
Also out shortly: a digital single featuring remixes of two tracks from "Onze danses" by Parisian electronic music producer Krikor.
