NYC post-punk outfit YOU. recently announced their new LP for Dais Records by sharing the incredibly catchy single "Feral", the album is due out next week and today are releasing the video for said single. It was created and directed by band member Scott Kiernan, who is also the director of NYC experimental public access show E.S.P. TV. Here is a bit of what he had to say about the video:
"I wanted an energy and physicality to match the song which came about from experimenting in real time with electronic hardware, signal generators, feedback loops, and revived TV production equipment rather than constructing a narrative around interpreting the lyrics. By working in this tactile way, everything got a more visceral feel to it, that sort of takes on a different life past any symbolic content of each image.
A lot of the images are fairly everyday or banal in content (a stray cat, an adams apple swallowing, a stopwatch, hands clapping, someone sitting on a couch) but these everyday scenes are sent through a bunch of clunky machines over and over and abused until they are rendered into something more physical. That approach seemed to fit with the song..."
You can check out the video below, the album is out next week.

Nearly 6 years have passed since Integral‘s debut album ‘Rise‘ was released. Now the German duo returns to present their new masterpiece. ‘Sercosa‘ unfolds like a hallucination and brings visions to life in the kaleidoscope of the mind. Vivid images begin to blossom as an ever-present and hypnotic beat pulsates like a star. Simultaneously, you are in the city and the machine speaks through the fabric of the dream.
‘Sercosa‘ is a journey through the sounds of prescience and lament, in which deep, earthy rhythms and tribal drumming swell beneath a layer of whispers that tell the story of an ancient ritual. Or perhaps the ritual is telling the story of the dream of the world to come.
