Morrissey on Blu-ray

10th of September 2013, 17:42

Eagle Records are delighted to announce the release on 21 October 2013 of Morrissey “25 Live” on DVD, Blu-ray and Visual Digital Formats [Cat Nos. EREDV999, ERBRD5201 and EVD1086 respectively]. “25 Live” is a legacy concert film marking 25 years of the solo career of one of the world’s most iconic and enigmatic performers. This is the first Morrissey live concert video for 9 years and features classic tracks from across his career including “You Have Killed Me,” “Let Me Kiss You,” “Everyday Is Like Sunday,” “Meat Is Murder,” “Irish Blood, English Heart,” “I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris,” “The Boy With The Thorn In His Side,” “Alma Matters” and many more.

Shot during Morrissey’s most intimate gig in decades at the Hollywood High School in Los Angeles on 2 March 2013, the film opens with fans talking about their unwavering devotion to the singer and the unique appeal of this unusual venue – a striking contrast to the sold out arena concert at the Staples Center on the previous night. Tickets to the concert in the 1,800-seater school auditorium had sold out in 12 seconds and this now legendary concert became Morrissey’s penultimate performance on the US Tour.

Bonus features on “25 Live” include four exclusive tracks recorded in a studio session:The Kid’s A Looker;” “Scandinavia;” “Action Is My Middle Name” and “People Are The Same Everywhere”. There’s also a mini feature shot “Behind The Scenes At Hollywood High” plus also a segment entitled “Grissle Bandage Present Lord Mudslide” which features Russell Brand’s introduction to the Hollywood High School show.

The return of Cat Rapes Dog

30th of August 2013, 16:45

Somehow we just knew we had to make music. Problem was we couldn't play and didn't have any instruments.

Described by Sweden's national tabloid Expressen as "a perfect union of Front 242 and the B-52's," Swedish electronic punk group Cat Rapes Dog is back with their first album since 1999. The new album, dubbed Life Was Sweet, is the seventh Cat Rapes Dog studio release and first on label Artoffact. The band gets right to the point and stays true to their punk rock roots, rarely pausing and skipping all filler. The album clocks in at a "fits on vinyl" 35 minutes, but in this short space Cat Rapes Dog will tell you to go out and vote, give you a lesson in religion, and baffle you with a sense of humour all their own. Manic electronic synth lines meet over-the-top male and female vocals on nine tracks of pure DIY weird.

A vinyl version of Life Was Sweet will also be released by German label Emmo in September.

A limited 2CD edition of Life Was Sweet will also be released on September 3rd. The bonus disc includes the best of the Cat Rapes Dog late-80s recordings, originally released on cassette and never available again. The CD includes songs from the cassettes "Cat Rapes Dog," "Nekronomikon," and "Property Produces Bodily Injury."
