As one half of Download (with Skinny Puppy's Cevin Key) Phillip Western has been crafting Electronic /IDM music for the last two decades. Projects featuring Phil Western include Floatpoint, Off and Gone, Plateau, Download, Frozen Rabbit and Kone.
A prolific music maker, Phil Western has over 40 releases of original music to date. It was his solo work which brought his abilities to light for fans of Download - a complex approach to rhythm and programming, and a sense of melody rooted in psychedelia, drones and space rock. Rustblade Records is releasing a showcase of some of those projects and releases for a compilation entitled "Laborandum". Featuring numerous songs from both Western's solo project as Phil Western. Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (Pouppée Fabrik, MZ412, Nordvargr etc.) and swedish Progress Productions join forces with Henrik´s new act Nexus Kenosis. "It´s always rare and pleasure to find new and interesting new acts that really stands out", says Torny Gottberg (Progress Productions).
The music of Nexus Kenosis could be described as a mixture of Aphex Twin, Skinny Puppy and Pouppée Fabrikk, combined the music is something own and unique. Nexus Kenosis will also work as a multimedia collective where Henrik has invited several others to join him for multimedia and visuals.
The debutalbum has just been finished and holds 11 tracks to be released early autumn 2012. Fans of hard electronic music will have a feast for sure.

"Infection" is a collection of magical and pure sentimental songs that blend together to create a unique sound and style that brings about the pursuit of personal emotional balance. The songs and sounds of Miss O find the straight way to your heart. Odette’s voice is fragile and pure, like an oyster without a shell.
Miss O does not try to impress with a wall of sound. But if you open your mind, the hypnotizing songs carry you away to Miss O’s universe: a magic world of miracles, stars, darkness, the pain of being, endless love and harmony.
It is difficult to put a label on the music of Miss O, but there are some similarities with Feist, Aimee Mann and Heather Nova.
Miss O’s debut album, “Infection”, is about the pursuit of the right balance of emotions: it may let you fall into the black holes of the strongest plutonian energies as well as up into celestial heights and divine depths. According to Jan, alias Dr. J., it also contains a subliminal healing power. Every song gets its inspiration from a specific astrological constellation, and has been mixed on specific days, calculated by Odette. If you open your heart, Miss O fills it with hope and love and cosmic energy. Magical and pure sentimental elements blend together in a unique sound and style. Intimistic melodies and a soft voice are the signature of Miss O. Songs such as "The girl", "My wildest time" or "Back home" can make you want to cry while the upbeat patterns of "In motion" and "The country" would push anyone to move their feet! Odette is able to evoke a mood of a rare delicacy with her voice and Jan can perfectly mix it with carefully selected instruments and sounds.
"Infection" is the result of a long journey and wants to find its place in the scratched souls of all people.

On May 17th Siouxsie was awarded an IVOR at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane to a standing ovation from a music industry crowd, the special inspiration award was presented to Siouxsie on stage by her close friend John Maybury and was preceeded by a 5 minute film about Siouxsie’s life and career from forming the Banshees with Steven Severin to recording as a solo artist and indeed recording a track for Mr Maybury’s film ‘The Edge Of Love’ in 2008.
The Ivors is an incredibly prestigious songwriting-based award ceremony that is now in its 57th year. Worth mentioning is that American songwriter Jimmy Webb was also honoured at the awards, he actually wrote MacArthur Park, a song covered by Donna Summer who’s tragically early death was sadly and spookily announced straight after the awards.
Siouxsie was interviewed for the amazing Punk Britannia series that runs on BBC 4 Television from June 1st (tomorrow). Check on line for details at the BBC website. As part of the celebrations Siouxsie also recorded a 1 hour radio show for BBC 6 Music that will be aired on 10th of June, Siouxsie hosts the show and will play some of her favourite tunes from her youth, expect to be dancing around the front room from Midday onwards (London time).
