Brian De Palma & Al Pacino interested in a US remake from De Zaak Alzheimer
"Scarface"/"Carlito's Way" duo Brian De Palma and Al Pacino have evidently been trying to find a way to work together again. Over at HBO, the pair was working on "Happy Valley," a project about the 2011 Penn State scandal until the network halted production in September, and there has been zero word since. But the pair have lined up another gig.
Screen Daily reports that De Palma and Pacino are teaming for "Retribution."lLoosely based on the 2003 Belgian thriller "The Memory Of A Killer" (trailer below), the story follows a cop and a hitman who work together to stop a child prostitution ring. No word on who penned the script, but color us interested.
ATOMZERO was initially a UK-based music project by Peter Godziszewski. A 3-track demo was recorded in 2001 with the track “Metaverse” included on Elektrauma Vol.6 compilation released in 2002.
Relocated to Canada the project continued with remix work for other bands and further compilation contributions, culminating in Gord Clement joining forces with Peter in 2004 and a new phase of ATOMZERO was born. The new songwriting partnership brought strong vocals, and a more melody-driven brand of electronic music, fusing classic electronic influences of early electro-pop, industrial and EBM into a modern mix.

The ‘Surface’ single can be downloaded for free via the AnalogueTrash Records Bandcamp page and is available on all major digital music outlets. A European Special Edition of their debut album 'Symbiosis' will follow shortly.
Syfy developing a miniseries adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s “3001: The Final Odyssey” with Scott Free Prods. and Warner Horizon Television. Screenwriter Stuart Beattie is on tap to pen the adaptation of the book that is the final sequel to Clarke’s classic tome “2001: A Space Odyssey.”
“Arthur C. Clarke is the father of modern science fiction,” said Syfy president Dave Howe. “We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Scott Free and Warner Horizon Television to bring to the screen, for the very first time, the final chapter of this extraordinary masterpiece.”
The final “Odyssey” tale continues the story spawned in “2001: A Space Odyssey,” and begins with the discovery of Frank Poole’s frozen body floating in space. The “Odyssey” series has spanned over three decades, with the initial publication of “2001” in 1968, and concluding with “3001” in 1997. The original Stanley Kubrick film has become a classic, while “2010: Odyssey Two” has been the only other novel in the four-book series to be filmed. The “3001” miniseries is the second Clarke project set up at Syfy. The net greenlit an adaptation of novel “Childhood’s End,” which begins production later this year.

Here’s the first trailer for Universal and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me spinoff starring the word-challenged yellow folks who “all share the same goal: to serve the most despicable master around.” Their well-intentioned bumbling leads to the demise of dinosaurs, Napoleon, Dracula and others, until Kevin, Stuart and Bob help the Minions discover their real purpose — and end up in 1968 New York. Directed by DM and DM2 helmer Pierre Coffin and written by Bryan Lynch, the Illumination Entertainment pic saunters into theaters July 10.
