Sony reveals the very first trailer of the new Spiderman

05th of December 2013, 18:44

From 16th April on Peter Parker will continue his adventures as Spiderman. Not only are we proud to present the very first trailer, but hereis also an interview Sony made with director Mark Webb in where he reveals some secrets....

What do you want people to know about The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

Spider-Man is in for the greatest battle of his life. We begin the film with Spider-Man loving being Spider-Man – he's smooth, having fun and the best crime fighter the world has ever seen. He's got his webs, he's got his agility and he's got his wit. But soon, Peter will have to face a foe more powerful than he can imagine. In a tragic twist of fate, Max Dillon transforms from Spider-Man's biggest fan to his biggest foe.

What is Spider-Man facing in this film?

Peter Parker loves being Spider-Man. He wouldn’t change it for anything. But he’s always faced the challenge of how to be the hero without letting it take over his life. Can you be Spider-Man and stop the bad guys and also have another life – a girlfriend and a home life? And this time, that conflict is more important and treacherous than ever.

What’s new?

We’ve got the biggest, most dangerous villain Spider-Man has ever faced: Electro. You know, by now, Spider-Man is really good at being Spider-Man and I wanted a foe worthy of his skills. With Electro, nature comes alive. He harnesses the power of the city, merges with it and uses it to devastate New York City. Electricity surges from his hands in bolts that instantly fry anything in their path. As he gains access to more power the city's prospects dim. He is light. He is darkness.

Tell us more about Electro.

Max Dillon represents the shadow side of admiration. A once-beaten down outsider, Electro's rage has built up after years of rejection and loneliness and transforms into terror itself. His adoration of Spider-Man is obsessive. There's something like Rupert Pupkin in him – a sweetness that covers up a psychotic break. That psychosis is at the heart of what will become a deep and abiding hatred for Spider-Man.

It seems that a lot of the Spider-Man villains come from OsCorp.

Yes, and that’s no coincidence. Of course, Max and Gwen both work at OsCorp, and Harry Osborn returns to decide how he is going to handle the responsibility of being the heir apparent to OsCorp. All of that will lead Peter into the great mysteries of OsCorp, and eventually he will face his greatest battle of all.

How does Harry Osborn fit in?

Harry was one of Peter's childhood friends, but they lost touch. Now he's back and getting ready to take the reins of OsCorp. As Peter and Harry start to uncover the mysteries of OsCorp, the company built by Harry's father, Harry will have to decide how he will live with his father's perilous legacy at the one place that houses all of these villains.

What’s going on with Peter and Gwen?

Peter and Gwen love each other, but they will both have to make choices and figure out their own paths. Gwen’s brilliant in her own right and she is starting to get offers that could shape her entire life. They’re going to have to figure out what roles they will play in each other’s lives.

It seems like you had a lot of fun making this movie.

Oh yeah. All of us did. We had a ball shooting this movie on location in New York – the first Spider-Man movie shot entirely in New York. We really made it a bigger film by shooting on location and you feel it on screen. For all of us, we remember being kids, eight or nine or ten years old, that fell in love with Spider-Man when we were growing up. We remember those feelings of wonder and awe and excitement; they’re a very big part of the foundation of Spider-Man and what gives him his appeal.

Belgian EBM legends Lescure13 release new album on Out Of Line

05th of December 2013, 14:03

This is the sort of reunion that probably not many would have expected. Lescure 13, formed in 1989 by Johan van Roy (Suicide Commando) and Stefan Bens (Stin Scatzor) and quickly becoming a cult-band in the EBM-scene of the Nineties with a series of Cassette-releases and one CD, are back!

Never officially disbanded, the project was sent into a hiatus of more than 15 years, as both protagonist got too involved with their respective bands picking up momentum.

With the double disc “Too Much … Motherf***ers”, Lescure 13 return with a full blast of everything that made them a scene-favorite: pure old school Electronic Body Music, full of raw edges and no compromises!

On disc one, they effectively prove that their trademark sound has lost none of its impact in 2013,with a collection of brand-new machine-driven tracks, massive reworks of some of their cult-songs and some club-compatible remixes.

Disc 2 is a dream come true for any fan of rare electronic dance floor gems, with a compilation of old recordings that have only been available on tape and are long since deleted.

This hard-hitting double-dip is a must-own for all old school body-maniacs and for all diehard Suicide-Commando- and Stin-Scatzor-fans, as well.

THIS IS EBM! Love it or f**k off!

LESCURE13 will present their new album on BIMFEST 2013 on December 20th with Arbeid Adelt!, The Klinik and more!

Dais announces David First 'Electronic Works 1976–1977'

04th of December 2013, 18:58

When people associate composer David First with his musical resume, anyone goes straight to his late 70′s avant punk band, The Notekillers and their influential 1980 single "The Zipper". Prior to his time in the basements of Philadelphia, he had already played in Cecil Taylor’s ensemble and after the Notekillers broke up he moved to New York City in the early 80′s, taking root in the downtown NYC avant garde scene. It was there that First honed his craft for experimental composition and ambient drone which still continues to the present day.

Though this narrative made sense, there was a piece missing in the puzzle of First’s musical background. In 1976, two years after playing with Taylor and the year before starting the Notekillers, he enrolled in a class in electronic music at Princeton in the department headed at the time by legendary electronic composer Milton Babbitt.

During his time at Princeton, First was introduced to the classical electronic music studio there, a lonely outpost of the famed Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center which housed one of the very first Buchla 100 series systems acquired by Vladimir Ussachevsky & Otto Luening.

Unfortunately, due to the introduction of digital technology within the music world, this system was left to languish in the studio unattended and nearly forgotten. First fell in love with this equipment and seized the opportunity to compose using the Buchla 100 synthesizer, at first experimenting only with electronic synthesis but later adding in his signature guitar stylings to make these compositions unique to the academic output typical of university music.

Thankfully, these compositions were recorded by First at Princeton on various reel to reel tapes and stored away for over 35 years. It wasn’t until the summer of 2012, when David First and Ryan Martin (of Dais Records) decided to revisit and transfer these reels to compile an album presented here as a selection of genuine, uninhibited exploration into modular electronic synthesis. Limited to an edition of 500 copies with liner notes by David First.
