On 24th March 2015 A-Film Benelux releases JOHN WICK on DVD, Blu-Ray and Video On Demand. The Blu-ray will be the first release in the Benelux that has a Dolby atmos-sound.
The Dolby Atmos technology allows up to 128 audio tracks plus associated pan metadata to be distributed to theaters for optimal, dynamic rendering to loudspeakers based on the theater capabilities. That is, Dolby Atmos enables the re-recording mixer using a Pro Tools plugin (available from Dolby) or a Dolby Atmos equipped large format audio mixing console such as AMS Neve's DFC or Harrison's MPC5, to designate a particular location in the theater, as a three-dimensional placement, where each dynamic sound source should seem to be coming from.[4] Sounds that are not dynamically moving, such as ambient sounds and center dialogues, are still separately pre-mixed in a traditional multichannel format. During playback, each theater's Dolby Atmos system renders all dynamic sounds, from the pan metadata, in real-time to make it seem like each sound is coming from its designated spot, with respect to the speakers present in the target theater. By way of contrast, traditional multichannel technology essentially burns the audio tracks into a fixed number of channels during post-production. This has traditionally forced the re-recording mixer to make up-front assumptions about the playback environment that may not apply very well to a particular theater (to the extent its capabilities differ from the mixing stage where the mixer was working).
The disc is playable on other systems too.

Zeven jaar na 'You, the Living' komt Roy Andersson, de koning van de absurde Zweedse humor, met zijn langverwachte nieuwe film.
Een wonderlijke mozaïekvertelling die verschillende verhaallijnen volgt. Centraal staan twee melancholieke, naar liefde snakkende verkopers van feestartikelen. Hoewel ze beiden in een bedroevend depressieve staat verkeren, is hun grote drijfveer dat ze hun klanten vrolijk willen maken. Vanuit hun perspectief maken we een bizarre reis door een fabelachtige wereld, door het verleden, het heden en de toekomst. Met een meesterlijk gevoel voor inktzwarte humor, een briljante enscenering en perfecte timing schetst Anderson een adembenemende wereld vol absurde dromen en fantasieën.
Roy Andersson
Roy Andersson (1943) studeerde in 1969 af van de Zweedse Film School. Met zijn debuutfilm, A Swedish Love Story, sleepte hij vier prijzen in de wacht tijdens de Berlinale in 1970. Zijn tweede film, Giliap, werd vervolgens gepresenteerd in Cannes tijdens de Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in 1976.
In 1975 begon hij een baanbrekende carrière als commercial-regisseur, waarmee hij in totaal 8 Golden Lion-awards won, in Cannes. In 1981 richtte hij Studio 24 op in Stockholm, zijn eigen filmstudio, zodat hij zijn films vrij kon produceren en maken. Hier ontwikkelde hij zijn unieke eigen filmstijl, gekenmerkt door vaste shots en tot in minutieuze details uitgedachte tableaus, in een zeer absurdistisch, komische stijl.
Het was in deze studio dat hij zijn THE LIVING TRILOGIE maakte, bestaande uit 'Songs from the Second Floor', die in 2000 de Juryprijs won tijdens het Cannes Film Festival, gevolgd door 'You, the Living' (2007), die eveneens werd gepresenteerd in Cannes.
A PIGEON SAT ON A BRANCH REFLECTING ON EXISTENCE, zijn vijfde speelfilm, is het laatste hoofdstuk in de trilogie, waar hij in totaal 15 jaar aan heeft gewerkt.

De godfathers van de (Belgische) elektronische muziek smijten de handdoek in de ring. En doen dit met een korte ‘TNJ Farewell Tour’ waarvan het allerlaatste concert een XL-avond in AB wordt.
Verwacht je aan een spervuur van mechanische beats, industriële synths en snijdende gitaarlijnen en een mooi carrièreoverzicht van één van de belangrijkste Belgische bands uit de donkere jaren ’80.
Met nummers als TV Treated, Nion, The Fashion Party, Factory Walk, etc. schreef dit Leuvense duo al snel een handvol klassiekers bijeen die een onmiskenbare invloed hebben gehad op de volgende generaties (elektronische) muzikanten en producers.
Voor het dit afscheidsconcert zal de band een extra lange set samenstellen en mogen we ons verwachten aan guest appearances van Jean Marie Aerts en Luc Van Acker.

A young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British travels to London in search of a home. SYNOPSIS
In Paddington reist een jonge beer uit Peru naar Londen, op zoek naar een nieuw leven in de stad waar hij altijd van gedroomd heeft. Wanneer hij helemaal alleen toekomt in Paddington Station, ontdek hij al snel dat het stadsleven niet zo gemakkelijk is als gedacht. Gelukkig ontmoet hij de familie Brown, die zich over hem ontfermt. Al snel wordt hij een deel van het gezin. Maar dan trekt hij de aandacht van een geslepen taxidermist die beertje Paddington maar al te graag aan haar collectie wil toevoegen…

Two Gallants’ Adam Stephens (guitar, harmonica, keyboard and vocals) and Tyson Vogel (drums, guitar and vocals) spent one month recording We Are Undone with Karl Derfler (Tom Waits) at Panoramic House in Northern California. The title track is available as a free instant download with LP/CD album pre-orders at twogallants.com and iTunes. The new LP is their second full-length release on the label following 2012’s The Bloom and The Blight.
Stephens and Vogel started making music together at the age of 12 and began performing around San Francisco as Two Gallants in 2002, when they were both 21. Alive Records released the duo’s debut album, The Throes, in 2004 which Pitchfork said “taps into a rusty vein swollen with grief, heartache and violent desperation.” Both Two Gallants’ 2006 album What the Toll Tells and 2007 EP The Scenery of Farewell were released on Saddle Creek. The band made their first TV appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in 2008 and have played festivals around the world including Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Latitude, Paleo, Roskilde and Perth Festival, among others.
