Synopsis:
In the 1850s, Ellen Ternan is a minimally talented actress who catches the eye of the hailed British author, Charles Dickens. Bored with his intellectually unstimulating wife, Dickens takes the educated Ellen has his mistress with the cooperation of her mother. What follows is a stormy relationship with this literary giant who provides her with a life few women of her time can enjoy. Yet, Ellen is equally revolted by Charles' emotional cruelty and determination to keep her secret. In that conflict, Ellen must judge her own role in her life and decide if the price she pays is bearable.

As Ginger & Rosa was brutally neglected, they give it another chance on the silver screen. From 16th July on you can see the movie again in Studio Skoop, a cosy filmtheatre in the centre of Ghent. Peek-A-Boo says: do it!

Gelukkig zijn er nog gepassioneerde cinefielen die een cinemazaal uitbaten, zoals Walter van Studio Skoop. Vanaf 16 juli zal deze Gentse bioscoop een platform bieden aan dit pareltje dat de Belgische zalen nog niet haalde.
Londen, de vroege jaren 60. Levenslange hartsvriendinnen Ginger en Rosa worden volwassen tegen de achtergrond van de seksuele revolutie en de steeds concreter wordende dreiging van een nucleaire oorlog. Terwijl Rosa zich het hoofd op hol laat brengen door jongens, verdiept de gevoelige Ginger zich in de groeiende protestbeweging. Haar politieke zorgen slaan echter om in een existentiële angst en Rosa heeft inmiddels meer oog voor Gingers interessante maar egocentrische vader dan voor haar vriendin.
De jonge sterren in wording Elle Fanning (Somewhere) en Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures) zijn het sprankelende middelpunt van Ginger & Rosa van Sally Potter (Orlando, The Man Who Cried, The Tango Lesson). Sfeervolle beelden en een jazzy soundtrack ondersteunen Potters coming-of-age-verhaal over een tijdperk waarin kinderen veel te vroeg volwassen werden. De sterke cast bevat verder onder meer Annette Bening (American Beauty), Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, Timothy Spall (Secrets & Lies) en Oliver Platt (Frost/Nixon).
Written and recorded in part in Montmartre by Courteeners talismanic singer/songwriter Liam Fray last autumn, Concrete Love is the band’s most rounded and satisfying record to date - its release coincides perfectly with a moment when they reach the peak of their live powers. The album sees the band working again with regular collaborator/producer Joe Cross (Hurts/Chloe Howl).
In the six years since they released their sharp and underrated debut St Jude – a pinpoint accurate portrayal of young life– the band have risen steadily with a quiet confidence. Each of their albums has gone Top 10 - St. Jude (no.4), Falcon (no.6), ANNA (no.6) - and the growth in their live shows has been exponential and astonishing. In 2013, Courteeners quickly sold over 100,000 gig tickets outside of festival appearances in the UK – including Brixton Academy and Manchester Arena. In August, the band play as special guests of the Killers at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow before headlining the NME stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals. They then tour the UK extensively in the autumn.
Concrete Love is available for pre-order now via all usual outlets. I-tunes pre-orders will immediately receive the exclusive album track Summer – as perfect a piece of sunshine pop as you’re likely to hear this season. Deluxe editions of the album come with either a DVD (physical copies) or download (i-tunes) recorded at the band’s momentous Castlefield Bowl gigs in July 2013, where, over two nights the band played to sold-out crowds of 16,000 people. The first single proper from the album will be released next month.

New single 'I Am Dust' is coming out as a single on July 7th. The track is from Numan's twentieth studio album Splinter – Songs from a Broken Mind, which was released in October last year. The record is the legend's most commercially successful record since the early 80s, not that it's any less glorious, dark and invigorating than anything he's released in the intervening years.
