Limited first edition of 1’000 copies strictly, including exclusive BONUS-EP, hand-numbered and personally signed by Merciful Nuns mastermind Artaud MERCIFUL NUNS are a phenomenon. The familiar yet still curiously strange sounds awaken feelings and emotions believed to be lost long ago, harking back to the days when Goth was still an ethos, a kind of religion.
MERCIFUL NUNS have managed to remain unique against all trends and topic currents; worshipped almost fanatically by their fans all over the world! MERCIFUL NUNS are more than just a band, they are an attitude and awareness of life. Something which either does not originate from this world or is not intended for it. Something for the initiated, the knowledgeable or the plain curious.
This collective of like minded people are known as the NUNHOOD; they gather in Lodges, organised gatherings or concerts and carry the elitist fundamental concepts of the band’s charismatic vocalist and head Artaud Seth into the world. All the while their numbers continue to swell!
Almost one year ago since their last release, Lebanon Hanover return with their third full length, in limited edition 1,000 copies digipak CD.
The first impression emerging from the cover reveals a continuity between the second and the third LP, but ‘’tomb for two’’ is not just the next set of songs from these two modern romantics. Larissa and William are completely devoted to their music, they don’t have a home, they don’t need one, they tour around the world, getting payed off for their hard work by finding out that there still are some sensitive people in a world of hypocrisy.
This is the music of a rebellion against the digital world of today.
Dark Entries is celebrating its 50th release with Leæther Strip “Teenage Demos”. Leæther Strip is the solo-project of Danish electronic industrial artist Claus Larsen. Discovered by the German techno artist and producer Talla 2XLC, Leaether Strip quickly built a buzz as one of the most exciting emerging acts in Europe in the early 90′s.
“Teenage Demos” is a collection of Claus Larsen’s earliest recordings. Nine demo songs recorded between 1982 and 1986 never before released on vinyl. Influenced by Fad Gadget, Depeche Mode and Jean Michel Jarre, Claus began creating synth-pop melodies at age 14. Though the melodies were catchy and upbeat they had a hidden melancholy because Claus knew that he was different than others. “Dreaming” was his first attempt to “come out” to himself as a queer kid. Lyrically the songs reflected what was going on in his head: youth, hope and dreams. Claus used a simple set up: Moog Prodigy, Yamaha drum machine, delay pedal and spring reverb. He would record the bass and drums on a double cassette recorder, without midi, sequencers or preset sounds. By 1985, Claus composed instrumental songs as the final three tracks on this album illustrate.
Each song has been carefully remastered from the original masters for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in a glossy jacket with original photograph of a 15-year old Claus as well as an insert with lyrics, photos and an interview. “Teenage Demos” is a sneak peak into the world of early, emotionally intense foundations of Leæther Strip
