Always favoring quality to quantity, AIBOFORCEN has never been one of the most productive bands from the Belgian electro scene.
It took them this time some 7 (!!) magic years to find their way through the somber labyrinth of their 5th album entitled "Dédale". Mostly centered today around the intriguing personality of mastermind Benoit Blanchart and the enigmatic female singer Patrice Synthea (REGENERATOR lead singer), AIBOFORCEN once again could not resist collaborating with another astounding plethora of guest vocalists including Jennifer Parkin (AYRIA), Claus Larsen (LEAETHER STRIP), Dominik Van Reich (amGod), Xev (DIFFUZION) or yet Donna Lynch (EGO LIKENESS).
Faithful to the band's sound trademark, "Dédale" offers a complex and modern mixture of eclectic electronic styles ranging from harsh elektro to catchy synth body music through dark trip hop with a certain future pop touch and that characteristic combination of harsh male growls and sensual female vocals which made their name. From the vicious upbeat "Everything Gets Sacrifice" to the moody abd lingering "Poem Of Life" through the beautifully dark and aptly titled "Shadows", AIBOFORCEN once again proves its unique ability to blend complex song structures, efficient melodies and vocal lines, random hitting beats and poignant atmospheres. An addictive mid-tempo release far away from the beaten tracks which grows on you until you totally fall under its spell.
A mind-boggling journey through a labyrinth of electronic songs with enough experimental moments and challenging arrangements to surprise you at every corner, including a totally unexpected cover version of U2's "New Year's Day" with the amazing AYRIA on lead vocals!
The limited carton box edition of the album also includes the 14-track CD "Sanctuaire" featuring some 5 exclusive songs: "Sanctuaire", "What's a Fetiche Darling", the harsh and tormented "Blood In Your Face" (with ACYLUM on vocals), the body punk assaults of "Running With The Wrong Boys" with the angry Claus Larsen on vox and the viral electro "Wrapped In Plastic" (featuring IMPLANT).
Add to this 8 radical and brilliantly selected remixes of album songs by ESSENCE OF MIND, ACRETONGUE, THE SYNTHETIC DREAM FOUNDATION, PSY'AVIAH, REGENERATOR, KANT KINO, CELLULOIDE and BEATI MORTUI. Cherry on the cake, AIBOFIORCEN also deliver 2 astounding revamped versions of their club hits "Twilight World" and "Not Unique". The first 50 fans ordering this box from the www.alfa-matrix.com e-shop can also get the super limited bonus 3" CD single CD 3 "L'Errance" featuring 4 additional exclusive remixes in a special packaging.
Two years after their well-received debut „Rising From The Ashes" Syntech release their sophomore album.
The cover already displays the dichotomy that is the core issue of "P’som Sett", the struggle of nature against the forces of industry – which is most dangerously manifest in the global destruction of rainforests (and the species living within) for the sake of profit.
Musically this is reflected in an impulsive clash of tribal beats vs. machine rhythms, imbedded into dark atmospheres.
The album starts with the gloomy perspective of the downbeat "Blackest Night Sirens". "Labyrinth" contains all the features of "P’som Sett" in a nutshell: A wild tempest of beats and percussions, relentlessly pushing the tune forward, while a claustrophobic atmosphere permeates the mind – cinematic and threatening! "Shy" has an almost Trip Hop-like vibe, while the title track is a more straightforward option for the Industrial dance floor, as well as the electro-infused "Voltage Boost". Throughout the album you will find a lot of diversion through change of rhythmic pace, ethno-flavoured percussive stretches and melodic fragments deep in the mix. "Whiteout" seems to lead the album towards a more quiet ending, before the closing title "Is Not My Problem" assaults the listener with a dehumanized clutter of noise that devours all structure.
Whereas "Rising From The Ashes" had been a rhythmic monolith that clearly disclosed the association with Industrial outfit Greyhound through the dominance of looped, pounding beats, Syntech now move further into a territory of their own with "P’som Sett". This album manages to take the listener on a 78 minute journey that never gets tiring and offers some surprises en route.
Releasedate : 7th October 2011
Henric de la Cour, the voice behind Yvonne and Strip Music now goes solo.
The sound is more electronic than before, but just as dark and epic.
In the spring "Dogs" was released, a brilliant goth pop song about a complicated relationship, as a teaser on Youtube.
Now comes the album, chock full of pumping electro beats, huge choruses and vampiric romance.
