To say thank you to everyone who supported Denovali Records and CARLOS CIPA during the past year we offer the debut album of Carlos Cipa "The Monarch and the Viceroy" for FREE DOWNLOAD from now on until December 16.
Carlos Cipa is a 22 year old composer/musician residing in Munich (Germany).
Carlos discovered his passion for music very early in his life. At the age of 6 he began taking classical piano lessons with various renowned teachers. Ten years later after he started playing drums he became more and more interested in composition and improvisation. In the following years he made lots of experiences in many music styles like jazz, hardcore/punk, indie rock and orchestral music.
Influenced by Eric Satie and Claude Debussy his piano music impresses particularly because of its intensity and great attention to detail.
It's not only enhanced by his classical background and symphonic film music works, but also by the experiences he made as drummer in different bands. Besides the piano he is interested in all different kinds of instruments, as experimenting takes an important role in his work.
Not playing just traditional concert rooms Carlos so far shared the stage with marvelous acts like Moritz Von Oswald Trio, Murcof, Blueneck, Kammerflimmer Kollektief, Philip Jeck, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, This Will Destroy You or Library Tapes.
Do we really need to invent Hookey?
I think not as along with Ian Curtis he created the perhaps most excellent sound in history. Inspired by Bowie, Hookey and his mates translate darkness into music. The rest is indeed history.
If there is one man on this planet who has the right to profit from the revival of the postpunksound then it's him, he's the one who invented it, not?
BIM proudly present this legend as their headliner. The best finale you can think of.....
And here is our headliner, well along with Peter Hook that is!
TEST DEPT:Redux is conceived as a club based EBM (Electronic Body Music) intense music & visual performance experience.
Fourteen years after their ‘Final event’ in London (1989) original members Graham Cunnington and Paul Jamrozy decided to team up once again to take us on trip trough TEST DEPT's early work. TD:R create a dense, powerful, vibrant soundtrack for our time, utilising sound and image samples from the extensive Test Dept back-catalogue; enhanced with new sounds, audio-visual documentation, and the duo's live vocals and percussion.
Their channelling of the personal anger and frustration they still experience remains as potent and caustic as before.
Silence breeds terror. Ever get the feeling you’re being watched? That someone ‘else’ is in the room? Things moving? Door’s creaking? Noises without a source? Perhaps a sudden creeping chill thru the room? Sharp odors? A rank smell?
As humans, we have been carrying the culture of fear and horror since ancient times. In folklore and stories. A trip through desolated grounds or a night in the woods can easily bring those ancient premonitions back to life. Our comfortable modern lifestyle makes us isolated and afraid of death. It makes us avoid the things that remind us of it. A fear of the unknown. What we cannot see nor understand.
A fascination of death, doom, spiritualism and corruption has gathered the members of Then Comes Silence, together with a predisposition towards noiserock, goth, shoegaze and psychedelia. The band brings darkness and romantic death via music and sounds, performed on guitars at deafening volume. Cathartic, distorted and effect-laden.
This fall will see the release of their self-titled debut and the unleash of dark forces. The four members of Then Comes Silence have chosen to remain anonymous. The members see themselves as not important and do not want to interfere with the experience. For more, come see the live performance.
However they have already made a name for themselves and have been compared to fellow swedes Silverbullit and on their first gig ever they had the honor to open for A Place To Bury Strangers (on APTBS request). You will definitely here more about Then Comes Silence.
