Paranoia Musique release their third compilation called 'Paranoia Musique Vol. 3'
An alternative party, and now a label, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Paranoia Musique release their third compilation called "Paranoia Musique Vol.3" this Friday (30th March). Founded by Diego de Oliveira (from the synth band Cubüs) the label brings with this release the best new and innovative artists of the underground. Electronic pop / dark synth band Huminoida's second full-length album is released in April as digital, CD and LP+CD formats. The Grey Area offers nine tracks of human emotions from the dark end of the scale. Melancholic synthpop, angsty new wave and harrowing beauty form the musical background for direct, unpretentious lyrics.
"This wasn't an easy album for me to make. The last three years haven't been exactly euphoric in my life or in the world in general and the anxiety of the times has affected the lyrics and overall mood of the tracks. There's no science fiction or surrealism this time, the themes on this album are very much of this world, this reality. That is one of the reasons why I decided to call it The Grey Area" explains K-K-, the sole member of Huminoida.
"The Grey Area" is an appropriate name also because musically it's kind of an oddball. It's not nice or "pleasant" album, and it disregard of trends and the genre-defying quality makes it difficult to pin down. To file it under "synthpop" may be a bit misleading. There are the melancholic electropop songs but also new-wave influenced and heavier lyric-driven tracks as well as the moody, beautiful tunes. It's diverse but I think a strong collection of songs."

Electronic pop/dark synth band Huminoida's tweede full album wordt in april uitgebracht als digitale, CD- en LP + CD-formaten. "The Grey Area" biedt 9 tracks van menselijke emoties vanaf het donkere einde van de schaal. Melancholische synthpop, angstige new wave en schrijnende schoonheid vormen de muzikale achtergrond voor directe, pretentieloze teksten.
"Dit was geen makkelijk album om te maken, de laatste drie jaren zijn niet echt euforisch geweest in mijn leven of in de wereld in het algemeen, en de angst van de tijd heeft de tekst en algemene stemming van de nummers beïnvloed. Er is deze keer geen sciencefiction of surrealisme, de thema's op dit album zijn heel veel van deze wereld, deze realiteit. Dat is een van de redenen waarom ik besloot het "The Grey Area" te noemen ", legt K-K- uit, het enige lid van Huminoida.
"The Grey Area" is ook een toepasselijke naam omdat het muzikaal nogal vreemd is. Het is geen leuk of "aangenaam" album, en het negeren van trends en de kwaliteit die het genre tart, maakt het moeilijk vast te spelden. Dat het album wordt geklasseerd onder "synthpop" kan een beetje misleidend zijn. Er zijn de melancholische elektropop songs, maar ook beïnvloed door new wave en zwaardere door lyric aangedreven nummers, evenals de humeurige mooie deuntjes.

THE CASCADES first new single from the upcoming album is called 'Behind The Curtain'
The new THE CASCADES video for the song "Behind The Curtain" was shot in Union Service Cinema, Elsdorf. The video and song present the classic gothic rock band as epic and charismatic as fans have hoped for.
After the release of their "Best Of" album "Diamonds & Rust" in Autumn 2017 which included songs from their first five albums as well as the new German title "Wenn der Regen kommt", gothic rockers The Cascades are back on track working on a brand new longplayer which is due for release in Autumn this year.
The first new single from the upcoming album is called "Behind The Curtain" and has been released along with a b-side of "Phase 4", which was only available as a demo on the Best Of album and now been finished in production. More singles and videos will be released within the next couple of months.

New Geometric Vision album, FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! is out on 23 April for the Italian-Swiss label Swiss Dark Nights.
It has been recorded and mixed at the Italian Sound Lab Studio in Nola (Naples) and Mastered by Marco Milanesio at O.F.F. Studio in Turin.
The visionary cover art was created by the artist Elettra Cuivre who worked with the band for years and has also collaborated on the lyrics on this record.
There will be also a special guest, Volkan Caner of She Past Away, who will sing on a track.
FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!, almost like an alarm, a premonition of misfortune but also a cry of liberation, an attempt to escape from the evil that afflicts us, enveloped in flames.
The record is a mystical journey between ancestral esotericism and contemporary awkwardness.
A symbolic succession of ancient legends, ruins, statues, volcanoes, natural calamities and magic.
The scenario is mental but with strong references to the homeland: Naples, Pompeii, Vesuvius and the Caldera Flegrea - the place where the video of the first single Apocalypse Queen released in June 2017 was shot - but also the Orient, Latin America, Africa.
Geometric Vision formed in Naples in 2012 and is composed of Ago Giordano, Gennaro Campanile and Roberto Amato.
The debut album was released in 2013 with references to Cold Wave. In 2015 the second album "Virtual Analog Tears" was released, characterised by a greater sound research and the vision of the band becomes less geometric and more dystopian.
The two albums received generally positive reviews in Italy and abroad and Geometric Vision are inserted in the list of the new post-punk/darkwave contemporary bands.
In FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! Geometric Vision explore a new consciousness of themselves and of what surrounds them, leaving for a while the cold and dreamy dimension of the previous works to let themselves be enveloped by the flames of a sacred fire.

New-Wave and Minimal high mass Waveteef from 30 March to 1 April
2018 has another edition of the Waveteef festival and this year it will start on Friday 30th of March. This year will be a mini-jubilee edition as it is the festival's fifth edition.
The cosy festival can be best to described as a three-day long high mass for obscure, but yet very danceable, New Wave in all its forms. Also this year they have again chosen for a very eclectic mix of bands.
So the Friday is the opener, Werther Effekt, a band of Brazilian ladies that are currently housed in Leipzig, Germany. Their music is raw and dirty, the way Waveteef likes it. Assertive vocals and sizzling, almost aggressive minimal synth. The second act on Friday, Blind Delon, a fairly recent band in the New Wave environment but they are already, rightly, played a lot at parties and radio shows. This three-headed band consists of young French guys who feel like fish in water in the world of drum computers and synths. The headliner on Friday night is perhaps the jewel of this line-up. The Polish band Super Girl & Romantic Boys. They play very catchy synth-pop with the necessary social criticism. Although that will be difficult to understand for the average festival goer after all, as they sing in their mother tongue...
On Saturday, Leather Ladder is the opener. If you like extravagant shows, you will certainly not be disappointed. It is a project by Petra Flurr. You could classify this band with the tag EBM but the synth-wave remains explicitly present. Then comes the melancholy sound of Tango Mangalore. This man sails the world's oceans professionally and that is also the central theme in his music. Released on the fantastic Fabrika Records label, known by insiders as the Lebanon Hannover label. The headliner on Saturday is Circa Tapes, a one-man project that combines electro, techno and minimal synth with the necessary dark touch. The tracks are exhilarating and extremely danceable.
Sunday, the third and final day of the Waveteef festival, starts with Raderkraft. Although this Dutch project supports electro influences, their main inspiration came from the Neue Deutsche Welle. Very exciting tracks with German vocals. As a second act for Sunday you will get the Belgian Luminance. No longer unknown in the Belgian New Wave scene and that is absolutely well deserved. The music is very emotional, melancholic and yet extremely danceable. As headliner on Sunday, there is finally Pure Ground, an American band that seeks its influences in the industrial and noise world but also remains faithful to the minimal synth genre. These guys have stage presence and will undoubtedly blow you away!
Of course there is also a wide range of international DJs who play the best of the new wave / Neue Deutsche Welle / minimal synth / postpunk and Italo disco. Those DJs are explicitly asked by the organizers not to play classics but to look for other danceable pearls in the bottomless pit called New Wave.
The festival takes place in one of the quarters of the great 19th century fortress of Wommelgem (Antwerp) / JH De WOMMEL (Fort II street).

New-Wave en Minimal hoogmis Waveteef van 30 maart tot 1 april!
Op 30 maart start er opnieuw een editie van het Waveteef festival. Dit jaar wordt al een mini-jubileum want het festival is aan z’n 5de editie toe.
Het gezellige festival kan nog het best omschreven worden als een drie dagen durende hoogmis voor obscure, maar heel dansbare new wave in al z’n vormen. Dit jaar is er opnieuw gekozen voor een zeer eclectische mix van bands.
Op vrijdag is de opener Werther Effekt, Braziliaanse dames die momenteel gehuisvest zijn in Leipzig, Duitsland. Hun muziek is rauw en vuil, zoals ze het graag hebben bij Waveteef. Assertieve vocals en nazinderende, haast agressieve minimal synth. Als tweede act op vrijdag speelt Blind Delon, een vrij recente band in het new wave milieu die toch (en dat is terecht) veel gedraaid wordt op feestjes en radioshows. Deze driekoppige band bestaat uit Franse jonge gasten die zich als visjes in het water voelen in de wereld van drumcomputers en synths. De headliner op vrijdag is misschien wel het pareltje van deze line-up: de Poolse band Super Girl & Romantic Boys. Ze spelen zeer catchy synthpop met de nodige maatschappijkritiek. Dat laatste zal wel moeilijk te begrijpen zal zijn voor de gemiddelde festivalganger; ze zingen immers in hun moedertaal…
Op zaterdag bijt Leather Ladder de spits af. Als je van extravagante shows houdt, zul je hier zeker niet op je honger blijven zitten. Het is een project van Petra Flurr. Je kan he onder de noemer EBM klasseren, maar de synthwave blijft nadrukkelijk aanwezig. Daarna volgt het melancholische geluid van Tango Mangalore. Deze man vaart beroepsmatig de wereldzeeën af en dat is ook het centrale thema in z’n muziek. Gereleased op het fantastische label Fabrika Records, bij de incrowd bekend van de Lebanon Hannover releases. De headliner op zaterdag is Circa Tapes, een éénmansproject dat electro, techno en minimal synth weet te combineren en er de nodige zwarte toets aan geeft. De tracks zijn begeesterend en enorm dansbaar.
Op zondag start de derde en laatste dag van het Waveteef festival met Raderkraft. Dit Nederlandse project steunt op electro-invloeden maar haalt de mosterd toch vooral bij de Neue Deutsche Welle. De tracks zijn heel opzwepend en zitten boordevol Duitse vocals. Als tweede act voor zondag krijgt u het Belgische Luminance. Geen onbekende meer in het Belgische new wave landschap en dat is absoluut welverdiend. De muziek is heel emotioneel, melancholisch en toch uitermate dansbaar. Als headliner op zondag is er ten slotte Pure Ground, een Amerikaanse band die z’n invloeden zoekt in de industrial en noise wereld maar tegelijk trouw blijft aan het minimal synth genre. Deze jongens hebben absoluut podiumpresence en zullen je ongetwijfeld van je sokken blazen.
Verder is er een ruim aanbod aan internationale dj’s die het beste spelen van de new wave / Neue Deutsche Welle/ minimal synth / postpunk en Italo disco. De dj’s krijgen van de organisatoren uitdrukkelijk de vraag geen classics te spelen maar op zoek te gaan naar andere dansbare parels in de bodemloze put die new wave heet.
Het festival gaat door in Wommelgem, Antwerpen in JH De WOMMEL (Fort II-straat).
