John Lindqwister (Cat Rapes Dog, Basswood Dollies) and Richard Flow (Vision Talk, Haze For Sale) return to the music business with a collaboration under the name of 'Machinista'.
Sweden is somewhat of a serious machine in the Synthpop world right now, and our latest revelation are seeking to capitalise on this - and take a few scalps in the meantime. Having recently supported Swedish darling Henric De La Cour, and embarking on the first of many UK shows in March, we are proud to unveil the debut release by the duo : "Arizona Lights".
Loosely themed around the extra-terrestrial, the package hints at the concept of UFOs and Abductions - but doesn't deter too much from the task at hand. "Arizona Lights" is very much a teaser EP, with four original tracks designed to introduce Machinista, and give but a brief glimpse of what this duo really can do.
Remixes from four of our most talented artists, and Swedish synth-wave project "Not Lars" make up the 10 tracks on offer here - and, rather unlike anything we've done before, you even get a rare Acoustic version of a Machinista classic.
Releasing on March 7th (2 days before the integral London show), this Digipak release is extremely limited, and is certain to sell extremely quickly.
Mode Moderne has been balancing black-nail-polish gloom and indie-pop accessibility since it put out its debut LP, ‘Ghosts Emerging’, in 2009. That was followed by the group’s first release for Light Organ Records, the ‘Real Goths / Undiscovered Country’ single, in 2011, and the seven song mini-album ‘Strange Bruises’ last year, earning praise from the likes of Pitchfork and NME.
Mode Moderne recorded its new album, ‘Occult Delight’ with producer Joshua Stevenson (ex Jackie O Motherf*cker, Pink Mountain Tops), at Otic Sound in their hometown, Vancouver. The new LP boasts some of singer Intilé’s most bitingly sardonic lyrics to date. “The spears are pointed outward rather than inward on this record,” Intilé admits.
On 22nd March Mode Moderne plays in Brussels. Click here for your tickets.
LA's Youth Code had a very busy year. 2013 saw them releasing their first LP, touring the country with Philly's Night Sins and deciding to not slow down one bit. To prove that, they are kicking off 2014 by getting right back on the road in support of seminal indie rock band AFI as well as playing a batch of headlining shows on their own.
In time for their tour, there will be a repress of the sold-out debut album. Their initial offering unleashes 10 bitter outbursts of dance floor destruction saddling strict BPM worship following the Wax Trax blueprint but stylistically rewriting their unique industrial anthems to a beat all their own. An explosive cohesion of material to follow up the angst-laden maelstrom of their elusive demo tape and redefined single on Angry Love Productions. While comparisons to the likes of Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly and Ministry are not far off, their hybrid blend with contemporary American hardcore punk makes Youth Code one of the most individual and distinctive electronic acts active today. Check out the tour dates and make sure you catch them with when they hit your city!

The wait is finally over. After releasing the teaser EP “In Your Eyes” (high on German Alternative Charts DAC) Swedish Cryo now finally deliver their long awaited new album “Retropia”.
Their most complete work up-to-date. Many magazines call them the next big swedish electronic export to finally take the place of Covenant. As always Cryo is in the leading edge of electronic music constantly seeking new paths, exploring new ways to bring you nothing else than pure perfection. “Retropia” is NO exception from this rule. 11 brilliant tracks from direct floorfillers like “The Portal”, “Believer” and “In Your Eyes” via brutally hard "Shelter" and melodic "Too much" to the enormous electro-epos “So Close” which is divided into three different tracks/parts building from slow beautiful atmospheres to a dancefloor inferno.
Simply beautiful!! And we have not even mentioned the fantastic artwork. 24 page booklet where art and music combine to one.
