How often does it happen that a band comes up with its debut release after 27 years? You may say that the appearance of the Paria EP by the Stockholm derived Stefan Ljungdahl and Ivan Hirvonen is a surprise indeed.
The disc includes 5 tracks, with a deluge of electronics, distorted voices and percussion gone mad. On the Web, the music of the duo is described as a mix of Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Absolute Body Control, The Klinik and Depeche Mode, but that is far too kind.
I would rather like it to be reduced to something as Einsturzende Neubauten gone completely mental. It's a good thing Ljungdahl and Hirvonen came to repentance and unleashe their innermost feelings to the world. This intriguing, dark, sometimes intimidating disc you do not want to miss.

The “BioMechanica” project marks the first collaboration between FRANCISCO LÓPEZ and ARTURO LANZ (founder and member of the current ESPLENDOR GEOMÉTRICO tandem) after thirty years of an ongoing relationship.
Their debut album, “BM-01”, is the outcome of years of intense work in multiple cities across the world, from Beijing to Reykjavik all the way to Johannesburg. Raw power and original rhythms, together with an overwhelming sound complexity, a multi-channel spatial virtuality and a spectacular production come together in BioMechanica, synthesizing the insight and experience of two internationally acclaimed industrial/experimental music makers.
Seaven Teares’ mostly acoustic sound brings together a number of disparate influences: dark post-Industrial folk (Death In June, Current 93), 1960’s co-ed pop folk groups (Mamas and the Papas, Ian & Sylvia), the drones and textures of modern composition and experimental improvisation, and the cold alien vocal harmonies of Gothic era liturgical music.
The seven slow-burning songs shift between abstract raga-like meditations and straight melodic hooks, set against acoustic guitars, dark synth ambience, vibraphone, bells, and occasional harsh electronics, as well as authentic Medieval pump organ and recorders
