After more than 16 years from its first press, this summer will finally see the re-release of one of Ataraxia’s most celebrated and popular albums – maybe their most ‘modern classcial / neo- folk’ – inspired albums. Deleted for years, Historiae comes in fresh, completely digitally re- mastered audio quality, in Digipak and including an EXCLUSIVE bonus-Track: Ataraxia's version of legendary Italian folk singer Fabrizio de André’s «Fila la Lana». «Historiae» is a sonorous book carrying the emotional burden of several lives consumed in that age, in those places. Single stories that dissolved in the oblivion annihilating the individual to save only big events. Ataraxia have listened to the lively narrations of some pilgrims, the sad stories of forgotten ladies, they have shared other people's lives while visiting villages whose names were unknown to them. In their turn, as wandering minstrels, they have transformed all of this into music and brought you these «Historiae» before taking other ways...
The first part of the album was recorded in studio during the 1997 Autumn equinox, while the second part was recorded live, in a Medieval court, during the 1998 Spring equinox. «Historiae» are tales narrated in front of a fireplace during the long winter evenings or along the narrow lanes of a forgotten burg. In these songs we can feel the presence of people who lived in Medieval villages and the flavour of our roots. Listening to the rolls of the drums and the blares of trumpets, we can trace a path leading from an atavic past straight to our present.
Turkey not only has Peter Murphy going for it - since 2006 She Past Away have been making a phenomenal strain of classic Post-Punk and Darkwave that feels like a fraternal twin to The Cure à la Seventeen Seconds, and Gary Marx era Sisters of Mercy. After performing at WGT in 2013 and packing clubs across Europe during past years, many are eagerly awaiting the release of She Past Away’s new album “Narin Yalnızlık”, the follow up to 2012’s smashing album ‘Belirdi Gece.’

Universal Pictures, which celebrated its centennial in 2012, has announced that it will continue to pay tribute to the studio’s history by restoring silent films made in the early days of its existence. During this process, the studio will work in collaboration with the Library of Congress, The Film Foundation, Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, George Eastman House, UCLA Film & Television Archives, Association of Moving Image Archivists, and Hollywood Heritage.
The list of titles is not yet available, as the studio is still finalizing them. But over the next four years, Universal plans to add approximately 15 silent films (out of 25 films total) to its list of fully restored Universal titles, which currently includes All Quiet On The Western Front, The Birds, Buck Privates, 1931’s Dracula and Dracula Spanish, Frankenstein, Jaws, Schindler’s List, Out Of Africa, Pillow Talk, Bride Of Frankenstein,The Sting, To Kill A Mockingbird, Touch Of Evil, Double Indemnity, High Plains Drifter, and Holiday Inn.
“The company understands its responsibility and need to preserve our silent film legacy,” NBCUniversal Vice Chairman Ron Meyer says. “This early art of filmmaking is the foundation on which Universal Pictures was built more than 100 years ago, and it’s important we honor our rich history.”
The restoration initiative is crucial to the preservation of culture and film history, as a recent report by the Library of Congress revealed that 70 percent of the nation’s silent feature films have been completely lost. The silent film era was also a particularly unique time for women in cinema, as female directors were much more common than they even are now.
