Collapse Under The Empire covers Depeche Mode

25th of February 2013, 18:02

On time for the release of Depeche Mode's 13th album "Delta Machine" in March 2013, Collapse Under The Empire shows their respect and covers the instrumental track "Stjarna", probably known only to fans, from the B-side of the single "Little 15". Collapse Under The Empire regards Depeche Mode as one of the most influential bands on their music, and present the atmospheric track in a new light.

The single including the B-side will be available in all online stores on 22th March.2013. Anyone who leaves their e-mail address can download the track "Stjarna" for free on the band's website or via the widget till the official release date. The track "'Stjarna" can also be heard on the 6-track EP "The Silent Cry", to be released on 2013-04-19. The EP can already pre-ordered on the band’s website.

Collapse Under The Empire thus shorten the wait time for the long-awaited second part of the concept work, "Sacrifice & Isolation", which will appear in October 2013.

Moddi sets the house on fire

25th of February 2013, 17:54

Moddi is Pål Moddi Knutsen. I am 26 years and come from the island of Senja in Norway. His debut album Floriography was released in 2010 and was nominated for two Norwegian Grammies. The same year he got a scholarship from the Norwegian pop group A-ha to spread the music around the world. After 250 concerts and two years of touring he took a break from touring while writing the new album.

Set the House on Fire is his second album, although he never really intended to make another. After his first, Floriography, he felt completely drained. Even more the two hundred and fifty concerts had worn the melodies out. Every day of touring was a routine. He was tired.

Moddi took a break – a long one. Between the trees of Telemark, as far away from both the continent and the sea as he could get, he found peace of mind. And with that the music he came back again. In the basement of the dorm he found a shower made out of concrete with a galactic sound. He made his first song in over two years there. He had to learn how to write again. Slowly, almost imperceptible, the melodies came floating, one by one. He scribbled the pages of his diary black. Every place, every day, every thought got its own song. And the songs kept growing: The last one was finished just the day before the recording started.

When he made Floriography everything was planned in detail. This time he had no idea about where he was going. Often he had to start anew, set fire to what he had built. Some songs needed care and silence, some needed play and laughter into the early hours. The band recorded Silhouette on their own – it was'nt even supposed to be on the album – while he was sleeping on the first floor, completely worn out.

From London came Kari Kamrud Jahnsen of Farao to sing on Run to the Water. The other voice (that which is not mine) on Silhouette belongs to Einar Stray. Everywhere producer Hasse Rosbach has scattered the sounds from his magical boxes and thingies. Together with them, and with many more, Set the House on Fire grew to be what it is: An album that first and foremost is about having the courage to find new ways. Moddi thanks you for listening!

Nine Inch Nails is reinventing itself from scratch and will tour in 2013 and 2014

25th of February 2013, 17:44

Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor's legendary band, had been put on hiatus 4 years ago. Reznor had been busy with other projects, among other his award winning movie soundtracks and his band How To Destroy Angels with his wife Mariqueen Maandig. Today: big surprise! Reznor made an announcement. Read it below:

"Nine Inch Nails are touring this year. I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked - which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows.
The band is reinventing itself from scratch and will be comprised of Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Ilan Rubin, and me. The first shows will begin this summer, followed by a full-on arena tour of the US this fall, and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014.
Lots of details and dates to come. See you soon.
TR"

- Eric Avery: bass - ex-Jane's Addiction, also played live with Garbage
- Adrian Belew: guitar - King Crimson, also played with Frank Zappa, Talking Heads and David Bowie

Peek-A-Boo presents the newest videoclip by Poupée Mecanique

25th of February 2013, 12:04

Poupée Mécanique is the second digital single taken from Happiness Project album 9th Heaven. This 5-track EP includes two remixes of Poupée Mécanique by Klass Kid and 360°, an alternative version of the album track Flesh And Bones, a Foretaste reworked version of Balloons And Zeppelin and a brand new mix of Heights by Neutral Lies. The clip proposes a twisted and memorable journey within the mind of a Poupée Mécanique.

The trio confirms its international renown by granting a two-page interview to the Italian magazine Ritual # 52 and a presence on the new Zillo CD sampler with their new single Poupée Mécanique.

Reminder: the CD album 9th Heaven is now also available on most digital platform and can also be discovered on streaming platforms like Spotify or Deezer.

New album by Soror Dolorosa

24th of February 2013, 20:49

With "No More Heroes" Soror Dolorosa have created another monument to the great spirit of the 80s. Like their highly acclaimed debut, their sophomore album contains nothing but excellent songs that are deeply rooted in the 80s Gothic Rock scene and hint at their main influences, cult acts like The Cure, Bauhaus or The Sisters Of Mercy.

Once again, there are no fillers on this release as is often the case with bands who produce one or two hits per album and the rest just doesn't match up. Every single one of these tracks has the potential to become a fave, be it the catchy up-tempo numbers or the more melancholic and gloomy songs. The band often alternates between these styles which creates an excellent flow throughout the whole release that keeps the listener attentive and yet completely absorbed in the music itself.
