New Model Army announce Nights Of A 1000 Voices at the Round Chapel, London.

02nd of February 2018, 17:15

New Model Army have announced a revolutionary two-night event at the Round Chapel in Hackney, London, April 13th/14th 2018.

"You know those moments when a band plays quietly and the whole audience sings the words? Sometimes, these are the most emotional experiences - because singing together is the oldest and most basic form of human art, something primal and truly shared. So we are planning two nights of just this, which, to the best of our knowledge, has never been attempted by any band ever.

We have chosen the Round Chapel in Hackney both for its amazing open acoustics and for the circular layout of the room, which we believe will be perfect for the spirit of the event.

These are not concerts as such; this is a community singing event for all those people who love our songs, who love singing and love the feeling of singing together with others. The venue will be fully seated around a small stage constructed in the centre of the room; the whole band will be playing but the arrangements will be deliberately stripped down and very quiet - there will be no big PA system. The nights will be all about the participation and voices of everyone who comes.

While we are open to suggestions, ultimately we will choose the songs that lend themselves best to the idea – strong melodies and slower, easy vocal rhythms will suit best and we will vary these over the two nights. We will issue song-books (included in the price of the ticket) as we understand that people often know particular lines and choruses but usually not all the lyrics; and, of course, we plan to record and film both nights."

If you love singing and love New Model Army songs and love the sense of community that we have created over the years, we hope you’ll join with us from all different corners of the World for these special nights.

Tickets went on sale from the band’s own website at www.newmodelarmy.org (in order to undercut crazy ticket agency fees) on two weeks ago and sold out within an hour.

A further Sunday matinee show on the afternoon of April 15th has now been announced.

22 years ago American Industrial-Metal band Ministry released Filth Pig

30th of January 2018, 17:15

Filth Pig is the sixth studio album by American Industrial-Metal band Ministry, released on 30th January 1996.
Rumours say the album title was derived from a statement made by Teddy Taylor in the British House Of Parliament who described Ministry’s singer Al Jourgensen as a filthy pig. Four tracks from the album would be later released as seperate singles; The Fall, Lady Lay Lay, Reload and Brik Windows.

The opposite of the previously released and successful album ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ, also referred to as Psalm 69, it was a less electronically infused record which divided the fans totally.

The cover art shows a man holding the American Stars & Stripes flag, with blood dripping from a chunk of raw meat on his head. He wears a badge on his chest saying 'Don't blame me'.

The highest notation in the Billboard 200 was in February 1996 at 19th position. The album lasted 10 weeks in the charts.

Al Jourgensen stated later: "Everyone hated Filth Pig. They all wanted Psalm 70, and I gave them an electronic-free record full of gun-in-mouth dirges of nothing but pain. Aside from the cover art, the humour was gone. All that was left was misery. And I still had to tour the fucking thing - which went down in history as the interminable, intolerable, absolutely depraved Sphinctour.

Filth Pig Lyrics

I start out you're in a daze and people start younger
In a thousand days and it's getting overexposed
Then someone asks, "How do you sleep at night?"
With the borrowed dreams from a broken past

You keep runnin' away don't matter how fast
or long you always wind up there
Another thousand pileups in the ugly name of morality
Fucking ugly, some creepy guy keeps asking

"How the fuck do you sleep at night?"
With a frozen dream and a borrowed hope that died
Filth pig, filth pig
I sleep with both eyes open

Filth pig, filth pig
I keep chasing this tail but the tail gets bigger go figure
A thousand... keep the fires and flames alive
So how the fuck do I dream at night?

With the memories of a borrowed death, the guilty tide
Filth pig, filth pig
He sleeps with both eyes open
Filth pig, filth pig

He sleeps all right because he's a
Filth pig

JEREMY INKEL R.I.P. 08.02.83 - 13.01.18 - DEATH OF ELECTRO-INDUSTRIAL MUSICIAN AT AGE OF 34

26th of January 2018, 11:15

The world of electronic industrial music has been saddened to learn of the sudden recent death of Canadian keyboard player and programmer Jeremy Inkel due to complications arising from an asthma condition. He was only 34 years old. Best known for his involvement in the most recent albums by the veteran act Front Line Assembly, he was also the co-founder of Left Spine Down (LSD) and produced tracks for various other well known musicians.

Based in Vancouver, he was welcomed into Front Line Assembly in 2005, co-writing and producing the album ‘Artificial Soldier’ that was released the following year. He also toured with the band, including festival appearances at the likes of Mera Luna, Summer Darkness and Amphi Festival and the band’s first ever appearances in Russia. He continued working with FLA on their ensuing albums ‘Improvised Electronic Device’, ‘Airmech’ (a video game soundtrack) and ‘Echogenetic’.

Jeremy’s involvement with FLA (plus their frontman Bill Leeb's side-project Noise Unit) provided him with the opportunity to present his ‘other’ band to a wider public, with the result that Left Spine Down toured with the likes of Revolting Cocks, The Birthday Massacre, Genitorturers and oHGr, plus a large scale North American trek with 16volt and Chemlab in 2010. Blending elements of industrial, punk and alternative rock into a sound that was catchy yet abrasive, melodic yet fist-pumping, with detailed electronica-style programming and a ‘fuck you’ punk attitude, Jeremy had formed LSD with frontman Kaine Delay. The duo’s final album, ‘Caution’, was released soon after the group had signed with Metropolis Records.

Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly has this to say of Jeremy :

“I am truly shocked, heartbroken and saddened beyond belief. Jeremy’s animated larger than life personality will be truly missed. Everyone who met him walked away saying that he was one of the nicest people they had ever met. His creativity will also be sorely missed. He had a huge passion for for music, film and a love of performing. We had recently started creating ideas for a new FLA album, while he also participated on our upcoming ‘Airmech 2’ release, which we are dedicating to his memory. Rest easy….there will always be a place for you with us.”

Metropolis Records have stated that :

“We are stunned and saddened to learn of Jeremy's sudden death. We wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family, bandmates and friends. His family requests that anyone wishing to make a gesture in his memory to please make a cash donation at your local food bank. They also request that we all please remember Jeremy for the kind, funny, soulful and talented person that he was."

Porn reveal “She Holds My Will” video

25th of January 2018, 17:16

Porn released their third album The Ogre Inside in October 2017. “She Holds My Will” is the fourth video from it. It was filmed in Switzerland by Matteo VDiva of VD Pictures. Philippe Deschemin explains the song is about love, death and sex. The video shows the bondage art Shibari to describe an S/M relationship. However, the first use of the technique came from the martial art Hojōjutsu, which is the traditional Japanese art of restraining or killing a person using cord or rope. The idea for the video came from the two-sided nature of Hojōjutsu. Same as love, Hojōjutsu can be both a creative and destructive force.

The concept of The Ogre Inside is based on a sci-fi novel entitled ‘Contoyen’, written by Deschemin and published in 2014.
