Aesthetic Perfection signs on Metroplis and Out Of Line

18th of August 2011, 12:19

Daniel Graves, the founder and sole creative member of AESTHETIC PERFECTION, announced today that he has signed his signature project to Out Of Line Records in Europe and Metropolis Records in North America.
Both labels will be releasing All Beauty Destroyed, his fourth album, in November of this year.
There will be a standard single CD edition and a limited double CD version. "There's an intentional irony in having a band called "Aesthetic Perfection" and naming your album All Beauty Destroyed," notes Graves "It's this struggle between personas, the dark and the light, the Jekyll and the Hyde."
Fans of Grave's previous albums won't be disappointed as All Beauty Destroyed continues in the dance floor tradition set by A Violent Emotion, Close To Human and Blood Spills Not Far From The Wound (recorded as Necessary Response), though with this new album, things take a decidedly darker and more sinister turn. "The Devil's In The Details", the first single self-released by Graves in a special hand-packaged CD and as a downloadable track in the Rock Band Network showcased the evolved sound that Graves expounds on with the new release.
The second single, "Inhuman", with its synthesized chant of No hope, No pain, No loss, No gain, is bound to keep DJs satisfied with its pulsing rhythm and shout-along vocals. "Under Your Skin", arguably the most unique track on the album, was recorded using no instruments other than Grave's multi layered voice. The title track features piano accompaniment from Panzer AG's Lauren Krothe and is the closest thing to a ballad as one can expect from Grave's twisted mind.
Aesthetic Perfection's live incarnation, which includes drummer Tim Van Horn, recently wrapped up its first headline tour of the USA (with support from Germany's Faderhead) and included a blistering sold-out performance at Los Angeles' legendary club Das Bunker.
The band is preparing for their first headline tour of the UK in November and will be announcing additional European dates shortly.
This constant touring, including previous runs supporting Combichrist, Imperative Reaction, S.I.T.D., Grendel and others have cemented Aesthetic Perfection's hard earned reputation as a powerful live force in the electro-industrial scene.
All Beauty Destroyed promises to be the darkest and most dynamic piece of work Graves has created.
As the LA Indy Media Blog notes, "Aesthetic Perfection is more than just rain in the desert, more than just food to a starving man: it is like having a friend jump into the fray as I am getting my butt kicked by 12 or 13 faceless stinking zombies."

Lou Champagne System on Medical Records

18th of August 2011, 12:13

Medical Records is happy to announce that MR-009 will be Lou Champagne System "No Visible Means".
It should be out in about a month or so (likely less).

Here is the description:

Originally self-released in 1984 on Pterodactyl Records, “No Visible Means” is the work of Canada’s own Lou Champagne.
Lou Champagne was active the Ontario music scene and also performed with other local musicians from that region as well.
The “Lou Champagne System” was the real-time guitar synth solo act of Lou Champagne. Due to his knowledge of electronics, he was able to link his guitar, synth, and synthetic drums into a working one-man solo act that was playable with floor switches and pedals.
The overall effect was the sound of a full band. “No Visible Means” was recorded in 1981-1982 and mixed in 1983.
It consists of 9 works of unrelenting sonic bliss.
The music can be described as synth-heavy, textural punk with a very diverse palette of styles drizzled in for a truly unique listening experience.
“Don’t Say I’m Here” opens the album with a bang showcasing Lou’s angular guitar effects and emotionally powered vocals.
“Propaganda Frustration” is a thick, modulated affair with overtones of minimal disco and motorik motifs that commands attention on the dark dancefloor.
“Machine Muzik” is a standout track with effects-laden jagged guitar hooks drenched in a haze of electronics.
From beginning to end, “No Visible Means” is a synth-punk masterpiece and will surely appeal to connoisseurs of the darker, synth-based outer limits of post-punk and jagged guitar-heavy new wave.
Available in the past only in limited quantities from Mr. Champagne himself, “No Visible Means” has been long out of print.
Medical Records is proud to reissue this LP with original reproduction artwork. Original ¼” analog tapes were restored, transferred, and remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA.
This reissue is officially licensed from Lou Champagne.
LP also includes original “nuclear circuit map” as an additional insert (with lyrics on flipside of insert).
Presented on high quality 180gram white vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies.

Jäger 90 out on Out Of Line

16th of August 2011, 18:34

Jäger 90 play Electronic Body Music. Raw, no-frills and hand-made, without computers and the aid of a safety net.
On their third long player, aptly titled “Fleisch macht böse”, they wrap up social criticism, your daily madness, fetish, love and interpersonal affairs in lashing electro beats and mercilessly thumping sequencers, in the best DAF-tradition.
Meat creates evil, humanity is going nuts and sex is war – with polished combat boots and always keeping an eye on the bass level, Jäger 90 slam dance at the edge of the apocalypse, while the rest goes down smiling over a glass of champagne.
“Fleisch macht böse” is the perfect alternative draft to the average hit-formula, computer-bred vapourware they try to sell you as the next big thing. Honest, German-language, electronic music to stimulate legs, brains and muscles.
