As it is Duran Duran Appreciation Day today (10th August), the band decided to release (in the good old tradition) a 'night mix' of 'Other People's Lives'. You can download it for free from the official page.

After almost 2 years since the "Land of Discordia" album, MATTER return with a brand new release, "Scanning Memory".
The album contains thirteen tracks with different styles of electronic music to discover ranging from the nineties up to the present and which took a certain influence to the actual sound MATTER is presenting with this cd.
Droning reverbs and delays which are significant for the entire sound production of MATTER and cold pulsing synth lines building the dark background for huge rhythmic walls. Deep, dirty and epic analogue soundscapes will blow your mind.
This new release in the full ‘Matter’ style shows the full range of their musical skills, while this time the focus is set on rhythmic structures.

The Sony warehouse that was destroyed by fire last night was also the main distribution warehouse for many Independant labels.
PIAS have issued the following statement: "There was a fire last night at the SonyDADC warehouse which services the physical distribution for PIAS in the UK and Ireland. PIAS is working closely with SonyDADC who are implementing their emergency plans. PIAS's UK offices in London and all other areas of our business are unaffected. More information will be communicated shortly to all our labels and partners"
PIAS is the main distributor for a large number of indie labels. 4AD, Warp and Beggars Banquet may also be affected.
This could prove catastrophic for some releases where promotion work has been done but the physical product has been destroyed and can no longer be delivered.
