Goethes Erben release a sneak preview of their new piece "MENSCHENSTILLE", that will be performed in the autumn.
In contrast to the two performances of “MENSCHENSTILLE” in Bayreuth in October, Goethes Erben will also play older pieces at the concerts in Berlin, Antwerp, Leipzig, Cologne and Bayreuth (July). Goethes Erben will have 10 musicians on stage during the first 3 concerts and from July on, the live ensemble will be complemented with an 8-member dance ensemble, which is integrated into the dramaturgical concept of “MENSCHENSTILLE”.
“MENSCHENSTILLE” is about a man who lost his belief in life, gets into a depression and likely will commit suicide, but maybe he manages to discover a way out, to overcome this depression? It is a very dark piece with a lot of text, the music varies from delicate chamber music to a wall of sound, created by guitars and electronic sounds. The texts are not only spoken by me, but also by other actors. There will be dance, monologues, drama, music and a special stage, constructed by wood sculptor Remo Sorge. Carsta Köhler makes the costumes for these characters, that are waiting together in an old house, to ensure that life can go on (barely).

SYNOPSIS
Nick, Dale en Kurt beslissen hun eigen baas te worden en samen richten ze een eigen bedrijf op. Al snel gaan ze failliet door een slechte investeerder. De wanhoop nabij, en zonder enige juridische bescherming, dokteren de drie beginnende ondernemers een plan uit om de zoon van de investeerder te ontvoeren en zo hun bedrijf terug te krijgen.

Already very familiar with classical music, and taking much inspiration from it for their own songs, this is the album that VNV NATION have always wanted to make. The album was recorded with the world renowned Babelsberg Film Orchestra, at their historic studios in Potsdam, just outside Berlin, next to the stage where legendary movies like Fritz Lang’s ‘Metropolis’ were filmed. Only the best studios were used for the recording, mixing and mastering. The results speak for themselves and can only be described as majestic… This is a soundtrack to a film that has yet to be made. The album will be released on May 15th in a number of different formats - for a limited time, it will be available in a special CD-Digibook format, and then (once sold out) as a regular CD- digipak.
