Alk-a-line's new album will include lyrics by Jean-Luc De Meyer and Jacques Perry-Salkow
The upcoming album of Alk-a-line, the female duo from Brussels composed of Toxic Witch aka Sandra Hagenaar (Fifty Foot Combo, Kris Dane…) and Sonic Witch aka Laurence Castelain (Flesh and Fell, The Chicks…), will be a very special release. Peek-a-boo had the exclusive opportunity to listen to excerpts from most of the songs and the whole sounds.... great! This 10-track album will play with musical references from the 80ies, electro and postpunk but will also play a lot with words!
The trance song "This is not a fairy Tale" will include clever lyrics by Jean-Luc De Meyer (Front 242, Modern Cubism, 32Crash) and two other songs, "Train-Train" and "Le Coeur à l'écrou" will feature amazing lyrics by Jacques Perry-Salkow, the French master of tautograms and anagrams.
We also heard songs that are true dancefloor killers ("Dark Energy", "Ich weiss"). We are really looking forward to hearing all the tracks when the album is released in April by Lynch Law Records!
Funny: all the track timings form palindromes, which means that they can be read from left to right and from right to left (eg 2:52, 3:33, 3:03, etc.).

saxon band LisaWars finally return after almost 3 years, in which they only released the singles "Wo warst du?" and "Die Angst in deinen Augen", with their new longplayer "Nichts". Started in the year 2002, Jens (Keys, Synths) and Micha (Guitar, Vocals) play their very own vision of gloomy music.
Far off of blinkers LisaWars mixes a cocktail consisting of New Wave, Goth and Punk. Bizarre german lyrics, that partly remind at classics such as Grauzone or Die Art, a minimalistic instrumentation in style of the early Neuen Deutschen Welle (NDW - German New Wave) and a deep glance into the depths of human civilisation emboss the songs of the band. These become a ray of hope on the german New Wave sky with a good pinch of Synths, floating guitar lines and memorable hooks.
After Junkyard + The Wings of Desire caught a lot of attention with their debut single "Underground Tapes", the post punks return with the EP "For Distant Friends". Junkyard + The Wings of Desire are a russian-based band, that was formed in Israel and has meanwhile settled over to Berlin.
Influenced by bands such as The Cure, The Birthday Party and Bauhaus, the band rocks through the 5-song download. Vocals far beyond any cliché, within the stress field of Rozz Williams, Peter Murphy and Specimen, accompanied by partly bizarre, partly very straight guitars, a driving bass and a simple drum programming.
The EP continues a re-interpretation of the old school, as the debut single did.
Legendary British rock n’ roll band The Godfathers explode into action in 2013 with the much-anticipated release of a brand new album entitled, Jukebox Fury, their first full-length studio release since 1995 - and a 23 date March UK tour with punk icons, The Stranglers. Jukebox Fury will be released on the band’s own Godfathers’ Recordings label on 25thMarch 2013.
The Godfathers were formed in 1985 by brothers Peter Coyne (vocals) & Chris Coyne (bass) from the ashes of their previous band, The Sid Presley Experience. They toured extensively and earned a reputation for their electrifying brand of primal rock n’ roll and incendiary live shows around the world. The Godfathers unleashed the storming rocker 'Birth School Work Death' as their debut single on Epic Records in late 1987 and scored a US Billboard top 40 hit. The classicBirth School Work Death album released in 1988 followed and was celebrated with extensive tours of the UK, Europe & USA.
The Godfathers reformed in 2008 to promote the re-issue of their seminal debut album Hit By Hit with live shows around the world, and celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2010 with a live CD/DVD compilation entitled, Shot Live At The 100 Club. The Godfathers’ influence has grown steadily in recent years with American stadium rockers Local H and Spoon releasing cover versions of their classics and The Mars Volta citing the band’s trademark primal rock n’ roll sound as a major influence on their recently releasedNoctourniquet album.
The Godfathers will be releasing a digital single, ‘I Can’t Sleep Tonight’ on 12th February 2013.
