Avant! Records is very proud to introduce their new release: *"Endless Days"* the debut album by the Brooklyn-based cold wave group *DREAM AFFAIR*
Frontman Hayden Payne began Dream Affair in Philadelphia in 2009 as a guitar-based outlet to his previous band Void Vision. It has since relocated
to the industrial outskirts of Brooklyn, New York and expanded its lineup.
Since the release of their sold-out EP All I Want last fall, the band has expanded their initial references of UK post-punk and French cold wave to
incorporate sounds of Wax Trax industrial and 4AD shoegaze.
Comparisons have also been made with bands such as The Cure and Depeche Mode. It is no coincidence that this evolution of Dream Affair?s sound corresponds with the
addition of Abby Echiverri (synths/vocals) and Frank Deserto (bass).
"Endless Days" is out June 27 on AVANT! as LP and CD, both limited editions.
Dream Affair is also a live act that is not to be missed; the band has secured several prominent gigs, including appearances at the infamous Wierd
Records party in New York City and opening slots for Mark Burgess of The Chameleons.
An EU tour is about to start, these the dates:
July 2 at Elfer, Frankfurt
July 8 at King Kong Klub, Berlin
July 12 at Fluc, Vienna
July 16 at The Slaughterhouse, Berlin
July 22 at La Mécanique Ondulatoire, Paris
July 23 at Swamp Club, Freiburg
August 14 at Part Time Punks / The Echo, Los Angeles
August 17 at Wierd Records / Home Sweet Home, New York
Following the recent postponement of Duran Duran's 'ALL YOU NEED IS NOW' European tour dates, originally slated to kick off June 10th in Paris, due to singer Simon Le Bon's vocal problems, the band members are delighted to announce today that they have been able to reschedule four of the key concerts for September, at the end of the second leg of their European run (see below for details).
The four rescheduled dates (all of which will remain in their original venues) will mark the band's first shows in each of these markets for several years, for which they are planning a totally new and spectacular production.
Tickets for the original June shows will be valid for the new dates listed below.
Friday September 2 Kyocera Stadium, Den Haag, Holland
Thursday September 8 Tivoli Park, Copenhagen, Denmark
Saturday September 10 Forest National, Brussels, Belgium
Monday September 12 Grand Rex, Paris, France
Bassist John Taylor said today "We were really disappointed to have to postpone the start of our tour in early June because of Simon's voice, but have used this time to work up some new material to make the rescheduled dates something really special for the fans. It's taken us a minute to clear all of these venues, as this is obviously an incredibly busy time of year, but finally we've been able to make it work and cannot wait to get there!"
Splitsingle from Martial Canterel and Tobias Bernstrup on Mannequin Records
Mannequin informs us that they're releasing a seven inch single of a nearly forgotten collaboration that now gets to see the light of day.
Played entirely live and using only vintage analogue synthesizers and sequencers, Martial Canterel and Tobias Bernstrup, four-hands / two voices, puts our minds in another dimension.
Martial Canterel is definitely one of the most talented artists in the electronic underground music of our time and is the pioneer and instigator of what has now become a new movement of minimal electronic bands in the United States.
With several albums on his back and deeply related to Wierd Records, Sean McBride is also the vintage controlled mind of Xeno & Oaklander.
Tobias Bernstrup is a Swedish contemporary artist working with videos, interactive works, live performances and electronic music, mixing electro pop, italo disco and some darker synth moments.
- Release Date 10 July
- Limited Edition of 300 copies, 1 insert
- Original art-cover from Tobias Bernstrup
Long out-of-print, Twilight Records and The Fossil Dungeon join forces to once again make available The Soil Bleeds Blacks's fourth album, "Alchemie", originally published by the (now defunct) UK distributor, World Serpent.
This new edition features re-mastered and newly embellished versions of the original songs along with several bonus tracks.
"Alchemie" is a conglomeration of songs, based heavily upon the medieval occult science, for which the album is named.
The album also features other songs portraying Arthurian legend and the bravery of knights on the battlefield.
The well-known Swedish ambient artist, Arcana, makes a very special guest appearance on the track, "Lapis Philosophorum."
This new edition comes presented in a fancy digipak!
