The Blue Aeroplanes burst out of Bristol in 1984, a pyrotechnic blur of dulcimers, bagpipes, turntables, dancing and lots of guitars, all bound together in tendrils of freeform poetry. For a select few they were a revelation, and the debut LP Bop Art was a source of comfort in trying musical times.
In 1989, the band signed a new deal with Ensign, and gained a new audience by touring the UK with long-time admirers REM. Those who witnessed the fourteen-guitar finale at the Hammersmith Odeon - where Stipe, Buck, Berry, Mills, half the road crew, and an assortment of music journalists joined the band on-stage for Breaking in My Heart - still speak in hushed tones. Fresh from this live triumph, the band headed for the studio, and began work on the superlative Swagger LP.
Swagger became the band's biggest critical and commercial success to date, bolstered by their new-found success and recognition, the band headed for LA to record the follow up to Swagger, entitled Beatsongs."The best album to bear a UK postmark in a long, long time" (Select)
This second album on the major label was their highest charting, reaching no. 33 in the UK album charts, this expanded version of the record, combines the album with a bonus disc of rare B-Sides and unreleased tracks all curated by Gerard Langley. Lovingly packaged in the classic Blue Aeroplanes style, this great record can only enforce the legacy of the band that still tour and release albums to this day

At long last, the debut long-player from the mighty We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It!! makes its Compact Disc debut in "Splendiferous" form on Cherry Red Records.
Hailing from Birmingham, England, the punk-pop, all-female quartet, also known simply as Fuzzbox first made their mark on the nation when their debut single ‘XX Sex/Rules and Regulations’ stormed the UK indie charts reaching the coveted Indie #1 spot in 1986 for a staggering 9 week stint.
Cited as a "Loud, gaudy and mildly controversial both visually and aurally, with a willful raw amateurishness to theirplaying..." the band soon earned the respect of influential publications such as the NME, Melody Maker as well as recognition from DJ's Janice Long and the late, great John Peel.
This 2CD/AA Sided "Splendiferous Edition" of the bands seminal classic "Bostin' Steve Austin" marks the album’s first CD release, some 27 years after its premiere on Vindaloo/WEA Records.
"Side A" features the original 12 track studio album, digitally remastered from its original analogue master tapes, whilst"Side AA" offers a comprehensive insight into the formative Fuzzbox years compiling 22 of the bands most rare and sought after recordings.
Bonus materials include the bands debut EP "XX Sex/Rules and Regulations" [UK #41], collaboration single with Vindaloolabel mates, The Nightingales and Ted Chippington,‘Rockin' With Rita (Head To Toe)’[UK #56], B-sides from their UK Top 40 breakthrough single ‘Love Is The Slug’ [UK #31] and 7' follow-up ‘What's The Point’ [UK #51], their fuzz-tastic rendition of Queen's timeless classic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, the fan club rarity ‘Radio Fuzzbox’, together with single exclusiveB-sides, 12-inch versions andthe previously unreleased ‘XX Sex (Gully Mix)’ and ‘Light Of The Silvery Moon’.
Having taken the indie world by storm Fuzzbox went on to release their second album "Big Bang!" [UK #5] in the summer of 1989, boasting the hit singles ‘International Rescue’ [UK #11], ‘Pink Sunshine’ [UK #14] and ‘Self!’ [UK #24], before disbanding in 1990.
The deluxe CD booklet features sleeve notes from the bands drummer Tina, complete with original and expanded artwork, featuring: single sleeve art, lyrics and rare promotional materials.
