On Sunday, November 1st, the Canadian electronic band Purity Ring will play a concert in Trix Antwerp that you really should not miss, because the music of Megan James and Corin Roddick is simply miraculous. Obviously, they will bring the beautiful compositions from their latest album Another Eternity, but certainly also the songs from their debut Shrines (2012), with which the duo forced its international breakthrough. De Franse metalband T.A.N.K heft net een nieuwe video uit met Björn "Speed" Strid van SOILWORK als gast. Het nummer is Blood Relation, en komt uit het nieuwe album SYMBIOSIS (2015/Symbol Muzik).

Today the Dutch symphonic metal band Epica launches its official live video Unchain Utopia, which was released earlier this year and shot at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels during the same tour.
This year Epica still has a few busy weeks ahead of them. Currently the six-member band tours in Europe with Eluveitie and support act Scar Symmetry. That tour ends on Sunday, November 22nd with the first edition of Epica's own festival Epic Metal Fest at the Bell Centre in Eindhoven. This is for the time being also the last chance to see them at work (probably until the autumn of 2016).
Epic Metal Fest lineup:
Nine bands on two stages, namely Epica (NL), Eluveitie (CH), Fear Factory (US), Sepultura (BR), Moonspell (PT) Periphery (US) , Delain (NL), Scar Symmetry (SE) and Dagoba (FR).
On Epic Metal Fest Sepultura celebrates its thirtieth anniversary with a 'greatest hits' set, as part of the current 30th Anniversary Tour. Fear Factory also gives a special show at the festival, a complete rewind of their (second) album Demanufacture of 1995 - a milestone in the history of the industrial metal.

De Nederlandse symfonische metalband Epica lanceert vandaag zijn officiële live-video Unchain Utopia, die eerder dit jaar werd geschoten in Ancienne Belgique te Brussel tijdens de gelijknamige tournee. De video is vanaf nu te zien op Epica’s YouTube-kanaal.
Epica heeft dit jaar nog een paar erg drukke maar mooie weken voor de boeg. Momenteel toert de zeskoppige band namelijk door Europa met Eluveitie en support act Scar Symmetry. Die tour eindigt op zondag 22 november met de allereerste editie van Epica’s eigen festival Epic Metal Fest in het Klokgebouw in Eindhoven. Dit is voorlopig tevens de laatste kans om het zestal live aan het werk te zien (vermoedelijk tot het najaar van 2016).

In totaal spelen er tijdens de eerste editie van Epic Metal Fest negen bands op twee podia, te weten Epica (NL), Eluveitie (CH), Fear Factory (US), Sepultura (BR), Moonspell (PT), Periphery (US), Delain (NL), Scar Symmetry (SE) en Dagoba (FR).
Sepultura viert op Epic Metal Fest zijn dertigste verjaardag met een ‘greatest hits’-set, die als onderdeel van de huidige 30th Anniversary Tour een muzikale dwarsdoorsnede geeft van de turbulente geschiedenis van deze sympathieke band. Ook Fear Factory geeft een bijzondere show op het festival, namelijk een integrale uitvoering van het in 1995 uitgebrachte (tweede) album Demanufacture - een mijlpaal in de geschiedenis van de industrial metal.

Mesh and Covenant play impressive shows at Gothic Meets Classic Festival in Leipzig.
When Mesh and Covenant concluded their exceptional concerts with classical orchestra on Sunday, they were rewarded with standing ovations from the audience. Both bands amazed their audience in the sold-out, impressive Gewandhaus in Leipzig. The setlists included both newer and older songs, for example Mesh’s successful single “Only Better” and a fantastic version of “Taken For Granted”. Covenant surprised with classical versions of “Brave New World” and “Wasteland”. Both concerts were professionally recorded, and we are currently evaluating the possibility of a physical release in 2016.
Neen, schrik niet onze redacteuren hebben niet te diep in het glas gekeken, maar afgelopen zondag kon je in een uitverkochte Gewandhaus in Leipzig de klassieke uitvoering van nummers van Mesh en Covenant zien.
Het concert werd beëindigd met een staande ovatie. Van Mesh werden o.a. Only Better en Taken For Granted opgevoerd, terwijl men uit de Covenant-catalogus tracks als Brave New World en Wasteland uit de kast haalde. Men denkt na om de opnames binnenkort op CD aan te bieden. Zo lang dat Helmut Lotti maar op geen ideeën brengt!
