JAYE JAYLE
PRISYN
Music • CD / Vinyl / Digital05/07/2020, Danil VOLOHOV
It is musically quite hard to describe Jaye Jayle’s newest album. The combination of different elements creating a dark-rock-ish atmosphere comes from the old passion of Evan Patters who found his inspiration in “The Idiot” – Iggy Pop's debut album. Patterson took bits and pieces of the general atmosphere from “The Idiot” – the general tonalities of “Prisyn” are much darker and more experimental. And somehow, Patterson managed to combine minimalistic sound-landscapes with rawness energy of electro-dance tracks – “Don’t Blame The Rain” and “Blueberries”. The head behind Jaye Jayle doesn’t follow one-line-formula-of-creation. And his lyrical hero is very much like the devil in the shape of Nick Cave. And “Prisyn” itself is not much of a record but a ritual.
