ORANGE.SECTOR
Für immer... kalt wie Stahl!
22/08/2013, Peter DOLPHEN
Hello Martin! How are you doing?
Thank you, I’m fine. Our new Album “Vorwärts nach Weit” is on the first place at the German Alternative Charts (DAC). It´s a good reason to feel fine.
Can you first tell us some more about Orange.Sector?
I can, but what do want to hear? I tell you something about our history. At first we started at 1992. I met Lars in an Underground club in Hannover. We found out that we had the same taste of music. That was the reason why we want to start a kind of EBM. We take some Words and put it together, and then we had the name Orange Sector. It was a dream for us to sign a contract at the legendary Zoth Ommog Cult label. We recorded an Demo tape called “The war comes home” and then we realized our dream. We were very proud of it. And now we have the Year 2013 and we do the same things as before. For so many years, I think that’s a nice story.
Your music sounds very old school. Can you tell us the bands which have the most influence on your work?
OK, it sounds very old school, but we create so many experiments with punk, rock and the new German wave time from the real 80´s. We want to sound strong and danceable. At the beginning we loved DAF, Nitzer EBB and Extrabreit. At 1992 we wanted to keep this sounds alive, but now we do our own thing with some parallels.
Your first release dates way back from 1992. Can you describe how your music has changed over the years?
We are not the same guys since 1992. We have Families, Jobs and so many things that we have learned. We want to realize products in a high quality. Orange Sector don’t want to tell politician things, but we want to tell some stories that you can think about. Orange Sector is a cool thing and we don´t want to change with someone.
After all these years finally you come over to Belgium. How do you feel about this?
It feels good. Belgium is the Fatherland of the EBM. It´s cool for us to give something back to you.
In which way do you consider yourself “different” than other EBM bands?
We are 45 Years old and we don´t want to look angry on stage. This time is over. The life is so hard and to short...we have fun and it´s allowed that we show our fun live on stage.
What can our readers expect from Orange.Sector on the ESN 2013? Why do they NEED to be there? Any last words to the public before you annihilate Le Cocquin in September?
Be a part of our band. We play live and loud for you. When you want to sweat or when you want to do a kind of pogo dancing, it´s the right place for you.
I thank you for this interview!
Thank you! We hope to see you soon
