I gladly admit it: if a band cites The Chameleons as one of its influences, then I’m automatically interested, so now you know how to get attention. Joking aside, Orations from Buffalo is a fine post-punk band that has its own influences, but the four musicians do something quite unique with them.
The cover looks indeed like you’re dealing with the next Christian Death, but this is post-punk with a shoegaze and C86-touch.
The four songs on this digital release are dominated by both Jess’ energetic singing that reminds us of Monica Richards, while the loud guitars are between the early work of The Primitives and The Jesus & Mary Chain. The compositions have a dark edge, but believe us...you’ll dance to it. This is indeed another band to follow...
