As we at Peek-a-Boo are all about supporting the alternative and underground scene we thought it was only right to put our shoulders underneath the ambitious Dark Demons project initiated by BodyBeats Productions. As opportunities to play under the best conditions for smaller or lesser known bands out there are few and far between we feel the need to support this in the best way we can... So we decided to interview all the 2017 Dark Demon Night candidates and let them present themselves to you one-by-one.

Short Bio:
Trying to fill a void the two founding members first started materialising ideas in 2015. What started out as a fun alternative to spend sundays away from home and family surprisingly ended up as a real project.

Please introduce yourself/your band you our readers?

We are "31st Tile," a two-man’s project that combines humorous lyrics with a powerful electronic thump underneath. Ambiance is our main goal, and if we can get the crowd moving and responding, that's a bonus. Of course we will conquer the world with our songs, but whether it will be this year or the next, we'll just leave that hanging.....

When and why did you decide to start your own musical project?

For several years we gathered for our weekly practice, with an earlier project (SOL19). In 2015, due to circumstances, it was time for a renewal. It was then that we decided to give birth to the "31st Tile" project. Our main aim is to bring humor to the stage. Our world needs people with a healthy self-reflection, and I think we're the right people to guide you.

Why did you choose this band name and what does it mean (to you)?

Ever done a renovation? Have you ever seen 31 tiles together? That’s a real experience, buddy !

Which are the major topics you tend to write & compose about?

We use “real-life” topics, okay I have to admit, they're always approached from crazy and unexpected angles. Behind every story there lurks some... "je ne sais quoi". Most EBM has the tendency to be dark and gloomy and we want to be different, so like I said, time to bring some humor to the dance floor.

Can you tell our readers why they should vote for you?

You will notice that voting for us and making it possible for us to perform will have a beneficial effect on your mental health and overall wellbeing, a real boost to your entire biological system, it will be a physical and mental workout!

Aangezien het bij Peek-a-Boo allemaal draait om het steunen van de alternative en underground scene, vonden we het niet meer dan normaal om onze schouders te zetten onder het ambitieuze Dark Demons project dat opgestart werd door BodyBeats Productions. Omdat er voor de kleinere of minder bekende bands weinig gelegenheden zijn om te spelen in goede omstandigheden, voelden we de nood dit zo goed mogelijk te ondersteunen... Dus beslisten we om alle kandidaten voor de Dark Demon Night te interviewen en hen zich een voor een te laten voorstellen.

Korte Bio:

In een poging een leegte op te vullen, begonnen de twee oprichters in 2015 ideeën om te zetten in werkelijkheid. Wat begon als een leuke alternatieve manier om zondagen door te brengen, weg van huis en gezin, mondde uit in een echt project.

Kan je jezelf/je band even voorstellen aan onze lezers?

Wij zijn "31st Tile", een tweepersoonsproject dat humoristische teksten combineert met daaronder een krachtige elektronische dreun. Ambiance is ons hoofddoel en als we de menigte in beweging krijgen en kunnen doen reageren is dat een pluspunt. Natuurlijk zullen we met onze songs de wereld veroveren, maar of dat voor dit jaar is of voor volgend jaar, laten we nog even in het midden...

Wanneer en waarom ben je zelf met een muzikaal project gestart?

Gedurende een heel aantal jaar kwamen we wekelijks samen om te repeteren met een eerder project (SOL19). In 2015 was het door omstandigheden tijd voor een nieuwe wind. We besloten "31st Tile" op te richten. Ons belangrijkste doel is om humor op het podium te brengen. De wereld heeft mensen nodig met een gezonde dosis zelfrelectie, en ik denk dat we de aangewezen personen zijn om je te begeleiden.

Waarom koos je de naam van je band en wat betekent die (voor jou)?

Heb je ooit verbouwingen gedaan? Heb je ooit 31 tegels samen gezien? Dat is pas een echte ervaring, maat!

Wat zijn de belangrijkste onderwerpen waar je over schrijft en componeert?

Onze onderwerpen zijn uit het leven gegrepen. Ok, ik moet toegeven dat ze altijd vanuit gekke en onverwachte hoeken benaderd worden. Achter elk verhaal ligt wat 'je ne sais quoi' op de loer. De meeste EBM heeft de neiging donker en somber te zijn. Wij willen anders zijn. Zoals ik al zei, tijd om wat humor naar de dansvloer te brengen.

Kan je onze lezers zeggen waarom ze op jou moeten stemmen?

Je zal opmerken dat stemmen op ons en het zo mogelijk maken dat we optreden, een weldoend effect zal hebben op je mentale gezondheid en algeheel welbevinden, een echte boost voor je hele biologische systeem. Het zal een fysieke en mentale workout zijn!
