HUSSEY/REGAN

Correct me if I'm wrong, but apart from Wayne Hussey being a gothfather, I always thought he was one of the greatest pop-song writers in the world. All Mission-fans will remember the man with his trademark hat performing Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love. Now, some decades later, he's back again, together with the lady I love most (at least music-wise) doing an album that features mainly covers.

Since Julliane's work with the godlike La Femme Verte, we all know that she likes pop songs, but on this album she performs the cream of the crop. The opening song is Naked And Savage, which of course we all recognize from The Mish's the hey days. But did you ever expect them to do Ordinary World by Duran Duran? They have and it's graceful, just like the versions of Bowie's Ashes To Ashes or Depeche Mode's Enjoy The Silence. It's true that there's not that much goth sound left, apart from Wayne's voice, as it's more Frank Sinatra than, say, Sex Gang Children, but hey...it's genius!

The most soulful voice in music (yeah, Hussey is soul) coupled with the most beautiful voice imaginable brings the magical combination of Hussey/Regan, an album featuring 70 minutes of sound to dream away with or whatever.

Nah, we hate covers, but this is it! Superb's the word.
