Wrong Way
10/12/2016, Didier BECU
We will never be able to explain who or what The Cult Of Free Love is. The biography says it all: relatively little is known about the band or its members... All we could find out is that this is a collective from North Wales and this album (out on vinyl) is the next step up after the successful single Love Is All There Is.
And what about the music? Well, it’s psychedelic, but in a different way. Perhaps the dance trips of Primal Scream (complemented with some Goa-trance) is the best way to describe it. Music for people who are keen on mushrooms and who like to put flowers in their hair? Probably, but these love children are not afraid of experimental electronics either. Interpretations Of Love I (Kontakte) (including distortion) could have been a lost track of Kraftwerk’s Radio-Activity.
Even if the music is aimed at the dance floor most of the time, Love Revolution is a very varied record. OK, let’s thank God they have some tracks on Bandcamp, so you can make up your own mind!
