On both Land Ski Records (CD) and 25 Diamond Records (vinyl), the first album by post-punk band Deleter (a band from Minneapolis) will be released soon. This band was formed in 2012 by musicians who were in other bands with a quite varied styles: hardcore, punk, garage rock to ska.

Deleter released some singles and the EP Komposition (2014) that was characterized by a post-punk sound, followed by the EP Zweite Komposition, that contains more sophisticated arrangements, some jazzy drums and a 70's psychedelic sound.

A year later the newest single Seclusion appears as an appetizer for the upcoming CD Oblique Seasons (release date: 7th Decemberà. It's a no-nonsens single with post-punk as it should be: straightforward and right in your face, with a tight bass line, a repetitive rhythm section and a sharp guitar sound, ranging from the typical post-punk three-chords like Sonic Youth, to shoegaze.

Listeners who know their stuff, will recognize both PIL, The Ex or just some influences from Wire and Psychedelic Furs. If the rest of the songs on the forthcoming album sounds as good as this single, post-punk lovers surely have something to look forward to!

Binnenkort verschijnt op Land Ski Records (cd) en op 25 Diamond Records (vinyl) het eerste album van de uit Minneapolis afkomstige postpunkband Deleter. Deze band is in 2012 opgericht door musici die in andere bands hun sporen hebben verdiend, van hardcore, punk, garagerock tot ska.

Deleter bracht in eigen beheer een aantal singles uit en in 2014 volgde de ep Komposition die doorspekt is met postpunk, terwijl de opvolger Zweite Komposition iets meer afgelijnd klonk, met meer verfijnde arrangementen, jazzy drums en een iets meer 70's psychedelische sound.

Een jaar later is er dus de single Seclusion als een voorsmaakje op de cd Oblique Seasons die op 7 december verschijnt. Een single klinkt no-nonsense en postpunk zoals het hoort: hoekig, ontdaan van alle franjes en recht toe recht aan. Herkenbaar zijn de strakke (voortschrijdende) baslijn, de repetitieve ritmesectie en de scherpe gitaarklanken. Die laatste variëren van de typische postpunk-drie-akkoorden tot Sonic Youth-achtige uithalen met een slepende shoegazeklank.

De attente luisteraar ontwaart hierin zowel PIL, The Ex en flarden van Wire en Psychedelic Furs. Als de rest van de tracks op het album even goed klinkt als deze single, dan heeft de postpunkliefhebber weer wat om naar uit te kijken.
