Autodafeh is back with a new album, called ‘Digital Citizens’. Founded in 2007 and already the fifth album from this Swedish band. Mika (vocals), Anders and Jesper (both synth and percussions) are famous with the lovers of old school EBM, and they will certainly not be disappointed with this release.
This time they really went back in time, the use of synthesizers and drum machines from the 80’s and 90’s gave these boys extra inspiration. They used these ideas within their creative setup to do something within their current digital domain.
They still take a lot of ingredients from a band like Front 242, they even covered ‘No Shuffle’ on this CD. Sometimes you can even hear some synthpop tunes, like on 'Feeding The Flames' , 'Legacy' or ' Ready To Go', with some very big Nitzer Ebb influences.
The personal highlights on this album are very danceable tracks : 'Information Society' and 'Ready To Go', both have a some great synth loops and catchy melodies.
This album really has much to offer, nice rhythms, heavy beats and superb melodies with straightforward lyrics. The perfect sound for the old school EBM addicts, who also like the boot stomping and sweating action on the dancefloor.
Autodafeh is still electronic music for body and mind, and they always recorded their music without much extras, they are just happy to bring some great new songs with rough hard beats, danceable rhythms and strong pumping basslines
