Long Road to Home is a combination of acoustic guitar chords within a trip-hop type of groove. As a collective it follows the well-established dogma of artists like Kasabian or The Libertines.
In this sense young London-based Distant Voices try to find their own way, approach and sound passing through a transformation phase on this debut record. Like a test drive with a broken navigation system. Sometimes they lose the sense of vibe and create a disbalance within the dynamic changes on the record. It’s quite difficult to make a perfect debut record being an independent artist, having no support from the label or any backing. This disbalance destroys the atmosphere. But sometimes, in contrast and as a surprise, it leads to some unexpected results. Like “Halfway To Rome”, leaving the hope that each next album will only be better.
