Torturetekk is a side project of Sean May, mostly known from his earlier electroband Athamay (if this name does not ring a bell, check tracks like Kiss The Whip, Domination or Eternal Torture).
Knowing this, the standards were set high for me, as Athamay was something I liked a lot back then. But make no mistake: Torturetekk is completely different. It sounds more like late 90's Eurodance meets 00's electropop.
Maybe this is the mistake a lot of listeners will make: compare to Athamay. An error I made myself on a first listen. But after I gave it a try or 4 - 5, it stands more on its own. Torturetekk can and may not be compared to what Sean did in the past.
So if you are into the 'old' Athamay, this may disappoint you a bit, but for those more openminded beatlovers: give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised.
