It’s A Synth is a Danish synth-pop project. After reaching a certain status in their homeland, they are aiming to expand further in Europe. It’s A Synth is – like the name suggests – inspired by The Pet Shop Boys and other Human Leagues. And I was hoping for some dark Danish EBM instead … rather disappointing! Where has that Danish dynamite gone? Thinking about those good old Zoth Omog days … Birmingham 6, Klutae, Leaether Strip and Psychopomps … Nostalgia!

It’s A Synth sounds contemporary and multi-layered. It somehow reminds me of Iris, although they don’t reach the same level as those Americans. Curiosity starts pretty interesting, but after a handful of tracks the skip button starts to look inviting. Intense? Hardly.

But those who are in search of ‘fresh’ sounding poppy synthesizer music, might give this one a chance…
