During the corona lockdown, Implant didn't sit still. Last year they released their album "Phantom Pain" and a few weeks ago they released "Cognitive Dissonance". This album comes in 2 versions: the standard version with 13 songs, and the limited edition with no less than 26 songs. This limited edition contains a lot of nice remixes of several songs that can be found on the standard edition. Maybe it is not as tempting for everyone to choose the limited edition, but in my opinion the remixes are fantastic. For example, there is the song "Run to the light", which was remixed by Suicide Commando and we also find "Censorship Through Noise (PT III)" on the limited edition of "Cognitive Dissonance". The fact that Implant knows how to get things done is clearly visible on the new album. Right from the opening track "I Don't Trust The Machine", they play wonderfully danceable songs, and the lyrics are not left behind either. What I personally love is when artists use their music to make people think, something Implant certainly succeeded in doing with this album. Whether you choose the standard edition or the limited edition, "Cognitive Dissonance" is an album that should not be missing from your (digital) CD collection.

Stilgezeten tijdens de corona lockdown, hebben ze alvast niet bij Implant. Vorig jaar verscheen hun album "Phantom Pain" en enkele weken geleden lieten ze "Cognitive Dissonance" op ons los. Dit album komt in 2 versies: de standaardversie met 13 nummers, en de limited edition met maar liefst 26 nummers. Deze limited edition bevat heel wat leuke remixes van verscheidene songs die op de standaardeditie terug te vinden zijn. Misschien is het niet voor iedereen even aanlokkelijk om voor de limited edition te kiezen, maar naar mijn mening zijn de remixes fantastisch. Zo is er bijv. het nummer "Run to the light", dat onder handen genomen is door Suicide Commando en vinden we ook “Censorship Through Noise (PT III)” terug op de limited edition van "Cognitive Dissonance". Dat ze bij Implant van aanpakken weten, is duidelijk te merken op het nieuwe album. Al meteen bij het openingsnummer "I Don't Trust The Machine" brengen ze heerlijk dansbare nummers ten gehore, en ook de teksten blijven niet achter. Wat ik persoonlijk schitterend vind, is wanneer artiesten met hun muziek mensen aan het denken zetten, iets waar Implant zeer zeker in geslaagd is met dit album. Of men nu kiest voor de standaard editie of toch gaat voor de limited edition, "Cognitive Dissonance" is een album dat zeker niet mag ontbreken in de (digitale) cd collectie.
