The new single of Sagitario, published on Christmas 2014, is one example of the great music coming from South America. Sagitario is David Valanci (voice/synths) and Mariela Pachinik (female voice), both from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

With its three tracks, the single is a good tool to have a quick look at the great variety Sagitario has to offer! “Angelic/Violent” is a wonderful, relatively slow dark wave song. Atmospheric and almost romantic elements, mixed with David’s dark, but clear and Mariela’s silvery voice, the song is clearly influenced by Depeche Mode.

“Celebration of Tragedy" (After Night Version) belongs more in the synthpop genre. The track includes sacred electronic organ parts and a rather liturgical chant, as well as the typical synth-like and ambient rhythm, with its amenable inflow of concise beats.

The third track “Forgive Yourself (Remix by Lamia)” reminds me a lot of the dark electro music of the 1990s: simple keyboard modules and a clear-cut course render a special touch to this remix. Really enjoyable!
