The industrial rock versus old school garage make Londons Ventenner a very original band in this modern age. Not a throwaway from the grunge era but a hybrid of heavy guitar music cultivated from the last thirty years with added atmospheric sounds to give their music that extra edge in today’s market.
With their follow-up release to this years acclaimed “Ataxia” their latest offering “Killing Jar” displays Ventenners finest points in a sharp blistering five-minute display of aggression matched by the very doom laden lyrics:
“There is no turning off,There is no other way. The dream to die young, Always comes to late.”
The track opens with a solid drum sound and takes off into a distorted playground of guitar riffs and at times a progressive direction similar to that of Porcupine Tree’s heavier moments.
Ventenner are a band who are going to break into a wider market as all the elements are there to make up a musical force to dominate the industrial rock scene, given the quality of “Killing Jar” we can only wait for the next album release with anticipation of great things.
