Komputergirl is Kristin Sigvathsen’s project. This Norwegian artist and composer worked for more than 10 years to develop her own sound that is inspired by her fascination for the Arctic. By using old analogue synths and sampling machines, she tries to create an atmosphere of conceptual sounds.

The single Lightbody is the first of two tracks taken from the full CD Polarpop. What strikes is the length of the track: 6:36 min., enough time to unleash the inspiration and various electronic music styles.

This composition has the purity of an arctic landscape: the slow synth has a new age melody that makes us dream of snowy plains and carved fjords, beautifully topped with a fresh future pop synth riff. As a result of Kristin's cool voice and Scandinavian accent, the song even sounds sexy. In short: a very nice introduction to the forthcoming debut album.

Komputergirl is een project van Kristin Sigvathsen. Deze Noorse artieste en componiste werkt al meer dan 10 jaar aan het ontwikkelen van haar eigen geluid en haar fascinatie voor het Poolgebied. Met behulp van oude analoge samplemachines en synths probeert ze een typische sfeer van atmosferische en conceptuele geluiden te creëren.

Deze single Lightbody is de eerste van twee tracks die vrijgegeven worden van de full cd Polarpop. Wat direct opvalt is de lengte van deze track, nl. 6:36, heel wat tijd dus om de inspiratie en verschillende elektronische muziekstijlen de vrije loop te laten.

Deze compositie heeft de puurheid van een arctisch landschap: de langzaam invallende synth over een zacht dijnende newage-melodie laten ons wegdromen naar eenzame sneeuwvlakten en uitgesleten fjorden. Dat alles mooi opgetopt met een frisse futurepopsynthriff en de koele stem van Kristin, die met haar Scandinavisch accent de song wat sexyer maakt. Kortom: een zeer mooie introductie voor het komende debuutalbum.
