MY SHADOW CONSPIRACY

An interesting homemade product, this is no band, My Shadow Conspiracy is the musical outlet of just one person. With a drummachine called Dr Boom and some cheap guitars he lets loose this EP that shows a broader view then one would expect from a gothrock oriented "band". A good thing cause I feared for another uninspired Sisters clone...

Convincing vocals that spill out intelligent lyrics are not the only good things here, he also takes a trip towards bluesrock in "Low Country Blues". Real hit material could be "Mad, Bad & Dangerous To Know", a well balanced and catchy rocksong that reminds me of Iggy Pop (Candy Candy I Can't Let You Go) or The Stranglers.

Not cursed with a big ego, he's got a good sense of humour, or whay else would he state the lineup has remained constant over the years? The last song is his Mary Chain version of Phil Spector's "Be My Baby". He's working on a new EP and I'm very curious about his development! One to watch!
