THE PAIN MACHINERY

Another new release on CCP, The Pain Machinery is all about hard hitting EBM, laced with some acid and a punk attitude. Didier described them by mentioning Killing Joke and Portion Control, well he's exactly right. And once the recipe has been perfected, there's no need to change anything! So expect more danceble beats, manly slogans and dancefloors filled with sweating bodies.

I love the wobbly synths of "Liquid Silver", it's got a slow rhythm and sounds a lot like those other EBM gods, Nitzer Ebb. Maybe "Outside" is a bit lame, the lyrics are not that convincing as in the other songs.

The single "Running Red" has all the EBM requirements, stomping beats and great lyrics like "I'm the moral majority so shut your mouth, shut your face". "There Will Be Blood" deploys some 4/4 acid rhythms as main weaponry, the guest vocals by Robert Lane (//TENSE//) are a perfect fit for the mayhem, slave to the rhythm, YEAH!

They went through some rough times and the dark and brooding disco killer "Damage" reflect those feelings. Anders Karlsson and Ulf Ekberg are still alive and ready to kick you onto the dancefloor! On your feet soldier!
