Russian production levels are high! This is Natasha and Alexey Protasov's fourth Suicide Inside output in five years. And with about ten more albums with Ambassador 21 they provide us with a steady flow of muscled beats and harsh snarls. They say it's mainly about love but then it's a hard, obsessive and painful love. They keep things lively, so to speak...
Their clubby approach of uncompromising beats and sloganesque vocals still works like a charm, songs like 'Homicide', 'Go Zonkers' and 'Power To Create Happiness' could be real floorfillers. The vocal confrontation during 'Snake H' suggests an explosive show between the couple and should be great to see live. The titletrack is the best one for me and combines all the things that make them so good, superb rhythms, compelling melodies and vocals with a vengeance.
Against all that russian steel they employ a warmer synthpop sound with 'Till The End Of Time'. The combination of vocal insanity with the same soft synthpop seems off balance in 'Act Up'. Hard and heavy is what they do best but the calmer tracks give the album a nice touch. No time to rest on this album, however the NATO 'Laibach' sound of last song 'Say Yes' is a fitting end that brings the Soyuz capsule safely back to earth.
With the catchy and poppy melodies it's perfect for Suicide Commando lovers, while adding more depth and variation with their 'fuck it all' punk attitude. Highly recommended! Oh and as usual with Alfa Matrix, there's a limited edition with remixes by Xotox, Aiboforcen, Implant, Kristal System, Needle Sharing and many more...
