HEATHER H CELESTE

It’s hard to describe the music of American composer Heather Celeste. Listening to her compositions feels like you’re listening to some early records by Cabaret Voltaire. It’s abstract, and you feel that the artist has something to say, but it can only be explained through sounds. Her dark minimal wave with a techno groove is experimental, but at the same time you can dance to it and I guess you can enjoy it while sitting in your chair.

Her dark music is inspired by the futurology of Ray Kurzweil who is involved in optical character recognition, and New York video art of the 60s and 70s as well. Once you start listening to this double CD, you’ll notice that Heather likes to experiment, and you might think that her demonic analogue sounds are “difficult”, but in a way it’s simple. Just turn up the volume, and the music will do the rest. The dark, doomy beats are haunting you, all added with Heather’s fragile voice. She has a strange effect on you, but you’ll like it, at least if you’re into dark electronic music.
