DR. ARTHUR KRAUSE

These Swedish gothrockers have been around since the dawn of the new millennium. After a few cdr's on their own label, Solutions is their third album. They call themselves reminiscent of Depeche Mode, The Cure, U2, Joy Division and The Sisters Of Mercy. Especially the last band is a major influence and they even reproduced their logo, font and artwork in a very similar way.

Musicwise it's also Sisters or Mission galore, especially "Dance Like Hell" is a good gothrock song in true Missionstyle with a great drive behind it. "Wait" is a ballad with somewhat overdone vocals but it does create that gloomy atmosphere about a love that never comes. Maybe it's a bit too dramatic but I'm certain others will like it because of that.

"Give Me The Queen" again typical Sisters rock but they do have a live drummer so no Dr. Avalanche here! With "Release Your Wild Horses" we return to the dramatic gothic rock with an emphasis on gothic. "Under Silver Moon" shifts in sound as it is similar to what you might hear from early Cure or Joy Division.

A fine album that provides you with great nostalgia but I would rate a band like Erato higher because of their more divers sound. But if you want a new pure gothrock sound then this is the band for you. Live you can expect the obvious, long trenchcoats, cowboy hats and sunglasses to boot!
