With Horror, DEAD HAND PROJEKT offers a 4 track EP following the self-titled debut album, released in August 2010. Style wise Horror brings straight-to-the-point synth-heavy guitar-infested industrial electro with distorted vocals.

DEAD HAND PROJEKT's music (or production) is certainly loud, and could arguably be a bit too loud although that might be a debate only suitable for producers amidst. I'll rephrase, calling the music too condensed, leaving little room for finesse.

Don't get me wrong, there's a good vibe in each individual song and a lot of different style elements are hinted at throughout the EP, but the overall feel is one of repetition. The only time there's really something different is in the IMPERATIVE REACTION remix of Dejected and even though I've never heard the original, I can make an educated guess what the IR contribution entailed.

For me, Horror (the 1st song) and Annihilation (the 2nd) are too similar, Cold Fusion definitely has a different feeling at the start, but once the vocals come in it becomes somewhat typical. Dejected is in a league of its own, relying, just a tiny bit less, on the use of distortion and a great chorus hook.

I'm sure this EP has its merits and individually the songs could certainly make a crowd move. While listening to the EP, I was intrigued enough to give the full CD a chance, I'll be hoping for more diversity though.
