You might know the members of the Polish art-pop duo Hidden By Ivy, because singer Rafal Thomaszczuk used to be in Agonized By Love, while Andrzej Turaj was part of God 's Own Medicine. The music is different compared to these two groups, as Hidden Ivy is situated between post-rock and darkwave with goth lyrics and music in the style of Wolfsheim.

The album has a somewhat slow start, but that’s only the beginning! The best track is undoubtedly Everything Was: a beautiful electro pop song with beautiful Asian-sounding vocals of Inga Habiba. A bit in the style of Ofra Haza.

There is a Polish track named Nie Znam Wiecej, which means "I do not remember”. Forget Me Not has great lyrics, and both Remembrance and Don 't Go are songs to remember.

A fine CD that needs some time, but that is worth having in your collection.

De bandleden van het Poolse art-pop duo Hidden By Ivy zul je misschien wel kennen, want de zanger is Rafal Thomaszczuk van Agonised By Love, terwijl Andrzej Turaj deel uitmaakte van God’s Own Medicine. De muziek is wel anders dan die van beide groepen, Hidden Ivy situeert zich immers tussen post-rock en dark wave, met teksten die onmiskenbaar gothic zijn en zich in de stijl van Wolfsheim situeren.

Het album kent een wat aarzelende start, maar bloeit na enkele nummers open. De beste track is zonder twijfel Everything Was: een mooie electropopsong met mooie oosters klinkende vocals van Inga Habiba. Een beetje in de stijl van Ofra Haza. Acht minuten die voorbij zijn zonder dat je daar erg in hebt. Er is één Pools nummer: Nie Znam Wiecej, wat zoveel betekent als ‘Ik weet het niet meer’. Forget Me Not heeft een knappe tekst, en zowel Remembrance als Don’ t Go zijn boeiende nummers.

Een fijne cd die wat tijd nodig heeft ,maar die de moeite waard is.
